I oughta hand out infractions for those that didn't know kvz is a Lady! :argh:

It'll be a bit funny because Brolin's ex (Diane Lane) played Clark's mom. :hehe:

Wait!....Diane Lane is back on the market? :wow:

It's either Bale or Bentley for me.
Bale being an older Batman, in a Dark Knight Returns vibe, would be awesome - especially if he said the infamous "remember" line in his Begins voice.

Bentley for a younger Batman. Whoever suggested him out of left field, I see why they chose him as soon as I look at him. He has that vibe that sells me as Bats/Bruce. He has plenty to draw on to capture Batman's inner darkness. It struck me then and there - He IS Bruce Wayne.

And, unless Bale finally caves in:

Interesting that the new rumor is that the studio wants a 40-ish actor to play Batman and Christian Bale just happens to be turning 40 early next year when filming is scheduled to begin. hmm.....:word:

That's what I was thinking too!

Wishful thinking, but I hate change and loved Bale.

I think people construe "older actor" into real life terms and assume the studio means the 40's range.

I actually think "older actor" to the studio means a more well established actor in his late 30's.

I think if they are thinking of spinning this actor off into his own solo films down the line they won't be going quite so old?

i really don't want an old batman unless it's bale. you've got a young superman, get a young everybody so that you've got wiggle room for the future films.

I hope you're right, Malone!

Yep. I am having a hard time envisioning anybody other than Christian Bale as Batman. I hope WB gives him an offer he can't refuse and he comes back. :word:

I don't think it will happen but WB would strike gold if they can get him back. Besides the added advantage of playing Batman in the Nolanverse, he has also a good chance to get an Oscar nod this year and I expect Exodus to do really well at the box office next year so his stock will rise even higher.

I actually wouldn't mind an actual older actor in the role someone who is in their mid 40's even. It's just that I sort of have it figured how studio's think and I doubt they'd get an actor who they wouldn't want to have for more future films and that's why they tend to go younger.

Like I said older in studio speak is likely late 30's.

I guess this is an appropriate time to say that whenever I see your avatar it looks like Batman is really excited.

OMG hahaha. He's holding a flying V guitar...he's supposed to be rocking out! Bat-metal \m/

...dammit, cannot unsee!!!

Shame, they always seemed pretty happy.

:shock Get me the defibrillator! :hrt:

I'm sure Diane will have no shortage of suitors....I wonder if she likes younger men. :hmm:funny:
Brolin was a few years younger than her. Only 3 younger though.

Nooooooooooooooooooooooo you changed it. :(

I shouldn't have mentioned anything. :oldrazz:

I don't want Brolin as Batman.

But if we are gonna go in that direction, I'm gonna be that guy and say Jon Hamm.

I'd prefer a younger actor in part because I want Batman and Superman to be peers, in part because I really wouldn't mind a more Sci-Fi bent to the sequel to justify Batman's equalizer's, and because I think a young, energetic Bruce Wayne contrasted with a weary, old-before his time Batman would be a great counterpoint to the now hopeful and fresh Superman.

Hamm and others have the chops for the role, but I just think a guy around Cavill's age allows for a more interesting and fresh dynamic. An established Batman who at the latest might have adopted Dick Grayson but has yet to help him become Robin would be ideal. Someone who's been fighting the war long enough to be a little shell-shocked, but young enough to despair about how the war is getting worse and it's likely he'll grow old while fighting it.

Right now, I've got Garret Hedlund on the brain, but someone in that age bracket who you could see being called a kid as Bruce Wayne and an old man as Batman would be perfect. Old Man Batman, ala Frank Miller, can be cool, but I just think youth would set better groundwork for relationship growth.

Plus, it would be hilarious if Lex or Perry observed that Lois might have a thing for younger men.:oldrazz:
