BvS Likely Deductions About Who'll Be Cast as the Next Batman

The Lone Ranger's a vigilante/superhero of sorts. I guess even Hammer didn't like his own movie.
Either that, or he just revealed the extent to which he didn't get the character he was playing.

Regarding the issue of age and casting older actors, here's a history of how old the past Batmen were in the year that they first appeared as the character.

Michael Keaton was 38 (Batman 1989)
Val Kilmer was 36 (Batman Forever 1995)
George Clooney was 36 (Batman and Robin 1997)
Christian Bale was 31 (Batman Begins 2005)

That said, I think actors in their 30's would work best for the next Batman and not any actor in their 40's.

It would be great to cast a more established actor like Jon Hamm (42), Jim Caviezel (44), Josh Brolin (45), Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (43), Karl Urban (41) but I think they would be more appropriate for a stand alone story of an older Dark Knight rather than for a movie with potential for sequels.

If they do go with a 30 something actor, they can go with someone who is still a rising star or cast an actor who would be relatively unknown.

Hammer sounds really butt hurt. He's coming off like a complete *****e bag IMO.

Am I the only one who would've liked Caviezel as Jor-El?

Dont mind what anyone else says but I think Brolin would be great

.@BATMANONFILM got himself a hot batman movie news exclusive! Go check it out. I have to head underground in a train right now.

So he's saying it's Jetts scoop. Hmmmmmm.

Brolin maybe would have been great in an alternate timeline, but after Bale's he's very mediocre.

How about Patrick Wilson

I saw this picture and thought he'd fit as a bald Lex Luthor. And he's worked with Snyder on Watchmen.

As Bruce Wayne, Batman I can see it too, but more for Luthor.

Hmmm so it seems the source for this news has precisely come from thin air.

Hamm is still a DAMN good choice. And so is Bentley for a younger version. But Brolin is a bigger movie star and in fantastic shape, especially doing Oldboy now. There shouldn't be a complication with his ex wife Diane Lane, as they wont be in any scenes together. But the memes will be hilarious "Batman banged Supermans mom! Batman is Superman's step..STEP dad!"

But I can totally see Brolin nailing this. It's a good actor to get after Bale.

Or maybe... Min-sik Choi...

Im gonna make a guess and say that Elmayimbe still thinks Bale might return because of what he's hearing currently and Jett's scoop (which elmay is referencing right now) is that Josh Brolin will be playing Bats.

Im honestly happy with both.

I've only seen Josh Brolin in "Milk" and I don't remember much about his performance.

I don't watch Mad Men, so I've been doing just a little catch up on youtube. Hamm sort of looks the part, but I just feel like he lacks a certain quality. Even though Bruce Wayne is a hero and essentially a good person, there's a terrible something that was born in him the moment he realized his parents were gone forever. I could be wrong, but I just don't see Hamm as being able to convey that ever so subtle hint of darkness that Batman, in my opinion, requires. His voice is also very raspy, and we know Bruce Wayne would never even get close to a ciggy. My thoughts.

You should realy watch Mad Men. Considering he plays an orphan on the show living a dual life, he goes pretty dark. Don Draper isn't even real, it's the moniker he chose to inflict fear into the hearts of husbands with bored and horny housewives. His voice isn't at all raspy, it's deep but not raspy. I actually think his voice is perfect.

It'll be a bit funny because Brolin's ex (Diane Lane) played Clark's mom. :hehe:
