‘Little Mermaid’ Set as ABC Live Musical, Auli’i Cravalho to Star

So TLM is the live musical this year set for Nov. 5th. They got Auli’i as Ariel, Queen Latifah as Ursula and Shaggy as Sebastian.

Harry Styles Passes on Prince Eric Role in Live-Action ‘Little Mermaid’

Sources say the initial reports about his casting were premature and that Styles made the decision to move on amicably. The studio has already begun looking at others for the part and, according to sources, a decision should come shortly.

It’s not a nothing role. Eric is the guy we as the audience are meant to sacrifice seeing our family for. Plus (I don’t agree with this) but he’s meant to be the male stand in role so that guys can see themselves in the movie.

Anyway, it was for the best having Styles not appear. This isn’t Eric



I’ve made my peace with the fact he’s going to be a twink but they should at least get someone a bit charming. More of a David henrie back in the day type person

Ariel sacrificing her voice/ family for him has more to do with her being a naive, horny 16 year old teenager than it does with him being interesting.

His casting in Dunkirk was pretty random but he wasn’t bad in it. Then again, anyone could have played that part.

He was good in Dunkirk, and he was campaigning for that Elvis role. It's clear he seems to want to be taken more seriously as an actor, and doing what will most-likely be a poorly-reviewed Disney remake won't help his case

Thank god he's not going to be Eric. Hollywoodreporter also reported he didn't take the role. They need a better actor for Halle.
