The Amazing Spider-Man Lizard's New Look: Verdict?--POLL

What did you think of his appearance?

  • PERFECT! It's the character come to life!

  • THAT'S the Lizard?! Mini-godzilla without the coat?

  • Can't tell yet. He wasn't in the trailer enough.

  • Where's Venom?!

  • It seems ok.

Games don't always follow the movie exactly.

Also..that looks nothing like Ifans. So, I wouldn't put too much thought into game spoilers.

Your point?

Gwen Stacy in the game looks nothing like Emma Stone.

I think Dee Brown said Dr. Connors will be in the game so yeah. Also, yes games don't follow the movie exactly, but it would be stupid to say they wouldn't transfer one of the MAIN CHARACTERS dying to the game.

And there's this too: the game events happen after the movie events, even a movie game wouldn't change something like that which isn't even in the game, it would only be confusing and serve little, if none purpose

He looks nothing like Ifans...not even the same hair color. For all we know, this could have nothing to do with the movie other than the suit. The Lizard isn't even the main bad guy in the game. Just don't put too much thought into video game spoilers that aren't movie tie ins. The game happens in the future so it will likely have little to do with the movie.

A movie game after the events of the movie serves no purpose as a tie in. The ASM sequel will have nothing to do with this game and both will happen after ASM.

fair enough, but you can't seriously say that they would just ignore Connors dying in the game. The game isn't a tie-in to the movie, but it is still a tie-in to the same universe and timeline, and whether Connors lives or dies is a pretty big thing

Yeah, but you're saying that if in the game they killed Scorpion (for example) it could still appear in TASM sequel. That's true, but it doesn't work the other way. The videogame gets its basis from the movie (yes, the whole movie, as a said earlier, Beenox has taken the movie script as a launch point), and that means that everything that happens in the movie has happened in the game. What the game does from that point is only for that use, and Sony will choose to use the events of the game as canon or not.

Actually, Sony did take Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2 (the games) as canon, back in the last decade.

We'll see. If it was a game of the movie, then yeah...I would agree. I am not going to put all my eggs in one basket regarding spoilers from a game that is in the future and where Connors looks absolutely nothing like Ifans. The games always come out before the movies as well so games always change up some plots and events.

They have said millions of time that the game is set after the movie and while I agree that some plot elements and events are changed in game adaptations/things of the like, something as big as a key character's death is not going to change. You can bet on that.

this

I'd guess, whether or not Connors lives, would have been one of Beenox's first questions, while doing the game. This game takes place after the events of the Movie, so anything that happened in the Movie, serves as the foundation of the game. And again, game Gwen looks nothing like Movie Gwen. They could have easily approached this as a Movie based game, that's also more faithful to the the comics. Which would be why game Connors actually has brown hair instead of dirty blonde.

No point in that since they will probably eventually just do another comic based game

What if Connors dies in ASM2 if ASM2 is also before the game? What if Gwen dies in ASM2 if it's before the game timeline? Is ASM2 going to acknowledge that giant robots terrorized the city if ASM2 is after the game? Are the writers of ASM2 going to take into account the movie game? No...

This is why getting hyped up over movie game spoilers is a fool's game. I'm not saying something will or won't happen plot wise, I'm saying it's pointless to think you know what happens because of a movie game spoiler from a game set after all the events of the movie. Just wait for the movie...

now you're just being a smart ass...

I see it like this, the game acknowledges what happened in the Movie, but ASM2 won't acknowledge what happened in the game. The end of ASM will be where game and movie time-lines diverge. Simple as that.

O.o
That's just stupid. Really, man, you are now talking about the story from the second movie, you're going too far. Just accept that Connors survives the first movie, it's not that hard.

And ASM 2 could perfectly take things from the games if they want to. As I said, in SM 2 and 3 the games tie-ins were canon in the following movie. Maybe not the Spider-Slayers, but the existence of Iguana, Rhino or Felicia Hardy in the universe could perfectly be in the movie.

The movie's timeline affects the game's, not the other way round.

The game and the movie each have their own continuity. This was stated by Beenox.

This is how I see it as well.

as said above, they mean that the movie timeline affects the game timeline, but not other way around. If we see like Mysterio in the game, it doesn't mean that we couldn't see him in the future movies. Still, they try to avoid things like that, but in those cases the movie continuity comes first

Omgizz you've seen the movie!? Tell us about it.

No to all of that. The games weren't movie canon...Mysterio never alien invaded NYC in the movie canon. There were no spider slayers. The games took the main movie plots and added in their own plots and characters. The movies never once recognized the games as canon.

I haven't been following the game production but looks like my guess was right if that is indeed their statement. If they wanted the game to be in the same continuity as the movie, they would have done a game based on the movie.

That's good though...it gives the game creators more freedom and less hindrances...which usually leads to a better game.

Not sure about Mysterio, but the 3rd movie actually made clear that Spidey has battled other supervillains between the last movie and this, and there are references to the Shocker fights in the movie tie-ins.

And no, I haven't seen the movie, but the same way you could assume that Peter is genetically different (something not yet proved except from rumors), I can assume that Connors survives the events of the movie. And my clues are pretty much solid.

When did the third movie explain that Peter battled other super villains? I haven't seen the movie in a while so I don't remember.

Also...SM3 was set right after SM2. I think I remember it being a couple of months though I'm not sure...it's been a while.

What are you talking about genetically different and rumors?

I don't remember anything about other villains being hinted at. Not one thing.

After the first time fighting Sandman. But the references are more in the tie-ins, anyway, which are canon.

The "genetically different" is that rumor that came out with the launch of the last trailer that the spider turns on something on Peter's genes that his father left there when he was a kid. The Ang Lee's Hulk all over again. That's a rumor that was only posted by one source, without any special reason to say that, just by taking the trailer sentences of Dr. Ratha.

After his fight with Sandman he says something along the lines of 'where do all you guys come from,' which meant Goblin, Ock, and Sandman. It made no reference to any video game occurrences or characters.

I don't know whether or not that rumor is true so you won't see me in here professing it one way or the other. I hope that does not happen but it does seem to hint or mislead that way...same for Connors seeming evil.
