The Amazing Spider-Man Lizard's New Look: Verdict?--POLL

What did you think of his appearance?

  • PERFECT! It's the character come to life!

  • THAT'S the Lizard?! Mini-godzilla without the coat?

  • Can't tell yet. He wasn't in the trailer enough.

  • Where's Venom?!

  • It seems ok.

To those saying "no snout" even with the skyscraper shot - NOT lifting the armored truck - do you know anyone whose mouth and nose protrude that far out OTHER THAN Homer Simpson? I'm not saying huge reptilian snout, I'm just saying a slight protrusion that is NOT humanistic.

I've just never seen a HUMAN with this kind of face shape:

But, hey, maybe that's just me...

Happy about there being 5 fingers. The eyes look really cool.

Still not sold on the blunt snout and total lack of clothes, though.

What it will all come down to is how the movie Lizard moves and behaves onscreen.

My opinion : too early to tell either way. Still cautiously optimistic.

I'm fine with the look and size of Lizard. I just hope there's a few shots of him in lizard form with some semblence of a lab coat wether shredded or not because at least for me that would be the touch it needs to be Lizard.

Its kinda corny so I can see why it isn't in any of the trailers we have seen, but it is an important feature of the character because as much as I love how Lizard looks in the trailers, the coat adds that VERY important touch of humanity to the character. It reminds the audie nce that this thing IS human and its humanity has been torn up, as opposed to just some random big green monster.

The lab coat adds a very important touch of humanity?

I'd say they made a smart move in ditching the lab coat and going with a HUMAN-esque face. That's *the* most important thing. The fact that somewhere inside of this big green creature, there's a man screaming for help.

Everything looks ace in the trailer...but seriously a comic book film lives by it's villain and this one looks like an imbecile. He's a Goomba from the Mario Bros movie. This is truly awful.

It's a shame since everything else in the trailer was so good. But personally speaking, if the Lizard looks that bad it'll just take me out of the film. He looks just as terrible as the toy version.

I hate the design, but it may look better once I see it in dark lighting, etc. But, I doubt I will ever "love" this design. At best, it will be passable. I wish they would have gone less human with his appearance.

I think it looks good, I have no problem with the more human looking face, Lizard did have a design similar to that in the old days, I see it as a homage. It's all AOK on my end.

I'm confused. Didn't the description of the Comic-con footage of Lizard attacking the girls in the bathroom say he looked like Jim Lee's Killer Croc. Did they change design halfway through?

It would appear they did. The Lizard they used in the SDCC footage, was un-finished effects.

I love how he looks. He's huge and scary looking. I'm more impressed by how good his cg is at this point. They still have 4 months of working on him.

I'm a little concerned with the Lizard design. I hope they haven't changed his face from the SDCC footage because that side shot of the snout looked good to me. But regardless I'm not too bothered by the face as it appears in the trailer. What troubles me more is his size. He looks like the hulk with those massive biceps and pectorals. Did Parker suggest he add steroids to his lizard serum? Is this why he seems to be on a car throwing roid rampage?
I can ignore the absence of lab coat completely so long as they include one scene where he wears it. Ideally the transformation scene, or his first encounter with spider-man.

Oh, so he does have 5 fingers? Well that's good to hear.

Well, it looks like he has 5 fingers on his left hand, which is his remaining human hand, but he seems to only have 4 on his regrown, Lizard right hand.
Which would make no sense of course, since lizards have 5 fingers too, but some artist probably thought it was a cool way to make the Lizard design asymmetrical.

I think it's a nice idea, imo, but even though a lizard actually has five fingers as well, it could just be because of the serum itself. That's probably why he isn't a full lizard.

I liked the Lizard...but I do miss the coat. I'm not used to see him without it.

I said he had a little snout, I never said he had a big one so dont count me as one of those people. (And Please don't start an arugment with me)

In going away from the snout topic, I wonder what the lizard is doing attacking Dr. Ratha.
