The Amazing Spider-Man Lizard's New Look: Verdict?--POLL

What did you think of his appearance?

  • PERFECT! It's the character come to life!

  • THAT'S the Lizard?! Mini-godzilla without the coat?

  • Can't tell yet. He wasn't in the trailer enough.

  • Where's Venom?!

  • It seems ok.

The general design of the nose, sure. But everything else is FAR, FAR, FAR different.

I think the real issue with the Lizard design is that while it has a human look, it doesn't look like Rhys Ifans and if it doesn't look like him, isn't it defeating the purpose?

I disagree, I think it looks a lot like Rhys Ifans. Every time I see The Lizard's face I think of Rhys Ifans' face immediately.

I think he should look more reptilian. The Lizard strips Connors of his humanity, so he should not look human.

I don't see why it should look like him. Connors is a man, Lizard is a monster. One can't see Ben Grimm's features behind his rocky face as Thing, either.

But if The Lizard is gonna look human, shouldn't he look like or at least favor the human that transformed into him?

I think the Lizard should look like a scaly, green monster with a tail. :oldrazz:

This is true. The way the Lizard looks doesn't really bother me anyways.

I think he looks great overall. Different than what fans have become accustomed to but that was expected with a movie version.

I can't see where all the "he looks like Killer Croc" thing comes from either. Croc is huge, nearly Hulk huge, Croc has no tail, Croc is totally dark green, Croc has a small snout, etc.

The only difference between the two based on your description is the fact that Croc doesn't have a tail and the slight color difference.

This Lizard is 9ft tall, has a small snout, etc

Even if he doesn't go thru any more transformations, I am ok with his look. It's a great combo between a human and a Lizard. There's enough of both for him to be menacing, yet still have the ability to remain visibly human that we are still able to connect to him. I think that is very important.

That's more or less how I feel about it, very happy and excited to see him on screen. Been wanting to see him since spidey 2

I disagree. Sure, the features are different but the general design is essentially the same, IMO. At least it is what popped into my head when I saw it.

General design?? Just because they both happen to be based off of a reptile, doesn't mean they are similar. The only common features are the fact that they have scales and they have a bald head. I suppose that if we're talking about general design then these two would be very similar.

They both fly in space and are grey. Therefore they are the same.

Seems you're in the minority with that opinion.

I was reminded more of the de-evolving Koopa right before that bomb went off and blew him into that hanging cauldron thing.

Ok, 2 things.

1. I'm really ok with how the Lizard looks. I like the slightly cartoon feel to him.

2. I still think he'll be touched up slightly in editing.

I can live with it. I know I'm ready for this film & The Dark Knight Rises. All other films are just a time filler for me :) .

What film is a time filler between the two weeks of each movie's release? Lol.

Ice Age: Continental Drift and Ted (The Seth Macfarlane Bear movie).

Nothing major and nothing that could derail TASM.

Little kids will choose TASM over Ice Age.

The little kids with good taste certainly will.

I have a feeling that Ice Age 4 will finally flop so bad that they wont bother to continue with a sequel. At least I hope so

Haha! They'll probably continue to make those movies until the next actual Ice Age comes along.

I completely agree with this! I hate this new look :cmad:

I just saw the images today too, and I was having good feelings about this film too! Nooooo

There's a fourth Ice Age coming out? I don't even remember the third one coming out!

I guess the fact that I didn't even know about it indicates just how much it'll make.

^ Yeah, Ted looks like it should be a good one. Seth has a good mind for comedy and I'm pretty sure he's voicing the bear too.
