Anyways, it seems like a Lois-type role in Trouble with the curve. A professional workaholic type woman who at first comes across as stuck up/ bitter then we see her vulnerability later.

She was awesome (as usual) in TWTC. If she played Lois like that I'd be perfectly happy with it! I always liked her but with every new role I see her in I like her even more. Im definitely convinced that she's the best choice for Lois - acting wise and among the best look - wise (although that is more in the eye of the beholder).

And yeah, how does she NOT have an oscar yet?? I'd giver her one just for being so damn good. :p

^ I feel like I'm looking at victim photos from a 70's murder case. Creeps me out.

Just shows how good an actress she is. :o

lol, I really like the last one. Stay classic Lois. :cwink:

^she is just trying to keep up

After watching the Master I'm reminded how awesome it is to have one of the best actresses around play Lois Lane. She just amazing and can easily do something special in some silly Superhero movie with out breaking a sweat. I can't wait to see what she does with the role.

Then I hope they hired her for a reason.

Is anyone concerned about how Nolan will write the relationship between Superman and Lane. I mean I can't think of any relationship in any Nolan movie period that had a good relationship between two love interest. I feel Nolan tends to over think these relationships. Anyone else concerned? Also, how do you think it will play out?

Well at least the bright side here is that they'll have more of a relationship in this film than they do in the New 52.

Using the term "relationship" is being rather generous. :o

What I like about Amy admas as Losi is that shes sure to bring a certain sweetness to the role as opposed to being a hot workhaolic biatch which seems to be the goto potroyal of lois.

looking forward to the clois romance in this movie

Amy Adams says that her Lois portrayal, even though it's a more modern take, "is very respectful and reverent to Margot Kidder":

Adams is just a class act. Love her.

I wonder at times on how does one "modernize" Lois Lane? I mean, truth be told, I didn't think she needed to be "modernized" since up until the New 52 crap, I thought her character was written quite well (hence being a fan of hers).

Also, as much as I respected Margot Kidder's performance as Lois, personally; I wouldn't say that the characterization of her character was the absolute best, in particular on how her character would be written to think about Clark Kent.

Yeah, I really don't care for the Kidder version of Lois AT ALL. But that comment doesn't worry me in the slightest, as it seems like it was just Adams being diplomatic, not naming the primary inspiration for her portrayal or anything like that.

IMO, the Erica Durance version is the best we've so far, followed closely by the Teri Hatcher version.

I don't know... Weirdly, I feel like it's the negative aspects of Lois' personality that make her stand out above a lot of other love interests.

It's just about handling them right. You don't make her a ***** in just a general way and have her treat Clark and everyone badly; you just have her being ruthless in her pursuit of a story she's passionate about, and perhaps being a ***** to someone she wants to expose.

Or if you do have her doing something selfish or thoughtless to someone who doesn't deserve it, you show that it does bother her even if she won't admit it.

Lois as a character is really interesting to write because it's about nailing the balance between tenacious, fiery, passionate journalist vs sweet and slightly vulnerable woman.

And I agree, both Teri Hatcher's Lois and Erica Durance's Lois nailed that balance :)

I can't stand Kidder's Lois anymore, her characterization is a serious detractor that prevents me from enjoying the Donner films. Sadly, Raimi used her as a model for his MJ...
