Anybody here into Alfred Hitchcock?? If so, which is your favorite film of his??

the best gatorade? fierce melon.

the best water? the iced one.

the best smoothie at smoothie king? Caribbean Way.

Yeah, North By Northwest is one of my favorites with Cary Grant. I also like Vertigo, Lifeboat, & The Birds.

Life boat is so great and so simple a story. It's like a very dark version of Stagecoach.

Yeah, I watched it for the 1st time about 2 months ago on TCM & the suspense just kept me glued to the t.v. I often confuse it with another similar movie called Abandon Ship, with Tyrone Power. LOL

APES. KICK. ASS.

Yeah everyone should probably go see that movie this weekend.

You both came out of your Momma's.

So. Apes was really good, huh? I rather liked the first one. I'm never against remakes or reboots on principal. Like Ben-Hur? Think it's a classic? It's a remake. Like The Maltese Falcon? Yep. Remake.

ETM, everyone knows that you were born from the Shame Cube, and it is written in the scrolls that thither C. Lee (whenever he shall return) shall send you at your end. :palps:

This franchise is making its own impression, like the original Apes with Charleton Heston did. Except here, the emphasis is on Caesar and the story of the apes themselves. It's quite an achievement.

I wish more people thought like you.

Look, I of course enjoy things that are made up whole cloth and original. But I don't see what the problem is with a remak/reboot. The hurdle for such films is exactly as that for any other movie: The execution. How is it done? Is it a quality work? Even if it's formulaic, does it hit that formula with crackerjack accuracy and timing? Every time I hear about a remake or the like all I think to myself is "I hope they do a good job."

They did a very good job. I loved it from start to finish.

I'll just retro fit my own personal canon and think that these new APES films are the actual backstory that the later 70's APES films did so poorly a job of showing us, about the actual ascension of the Apes over man.

That seems to be where it's headed. But the most important thing was that when it was over, it left me wanting more. So I'm very much looking forward to the third film (Reign of the Planet of the Apes? :hehe:)

How did you see it so early, kiddo?

I'm talking about Rise.

I don't love him or anything, but his films are suspenseful and great. I've seen Psycho, North by Northwest, Rear Window, and the first half of The Birds. Gosh, they're all awesome, but I guess it's Rear Window. It had me at the edge of my seat with all the suspense.

North by Northwest was a really great spy thriller. That plane scene is all kinds of awesome.

Psycho is one of the few horror movies to actually scare me. That Norman Bates scene at the end! :wow:

Dang... I wasn't paying attention Maooz. :yay:

So you've caught a good bit of Hitch's filmography. Yet... You still haven't found the time to see THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN or THE GREAT ESCAPE. tsk, tsk.... :cwink:

It's going to take me a while to decide on my favorite Hitchcock film.

On a random note, I am happy that I won the auction for Morrowind on XBOX; good times lie ahead.
