Let's speak on a completely hypothetical level that Lord and Miller are comedy directors who simply couldn't handle directing a big budget heavily effects driven film that relies on stringent continuity to what will be at that point 9 other films.

Who ****ing hired them in the first place?

Either this will lead to a big shakeup with certain projects getting pushed back and new talent getting brought in, or she'll reaffirm her view of the franchise and keep CTrev for IX as a "safe" yes man. I'm not sure what way the wind will blow, but I'll say this, it kind of jives with the rumour a few months back that they were keen to rehire Gareth for a project after how well he played ball during the production of Rogue One, so that's something to consider.

The only interest I had in that movie was because they were directing it. It seemed like it would have been something different, and off the beaten path from what Star Wars usually is.

I have zero interest in Han Solo's backstory, so that wasn't going to pull me in. And the fact that there's only a few weeks left of filming... that's a mess. What is this movie even going to be, if the higher-ups decided that the direction its gone under for 90% of its filming is the wrong direction?

Really took away the key ingredient there.
