Oh... It's a bit skeevy but I was someplace I knew she would hear about my actions through her friends who I know because she's told me always tell her what I am up to.

Breaking it down my mom needs me to step up financially and my aunt that I rent my place from had heart surgery about six months back and she too has some big financial issues. I had to step up on two fronts. My aunt was giving me a sweet deal with rent but I told her to double it. With that being the case I couldn't keep helping out this woman any more, having enough on my plate as it is. For a long time now we were involved if not totally in a serious way. But she has these twin daughters and I chipped in A LOT over the years as she has no one else in this country. But... To say we were a couple would be stretching it greatly. I helped her for the sake of those kids, but they are far removed from the pampers and baby clothing phase. They are 13 years old. I helped quite a bit for the past 7 years.

Once I had to start contributing more to mom and my aunt I had to cut her off. No hard feelings but I couldn't keep doing that anymore. I have too much on my plate. After cutting her off I start getting nude pictures sent from her. Regularly. I haven't answered because I know I'm weak. We'll start texting, start talking and before you know it I'll be back where I started. This has been going on for six months with her. So... Yeah I decided I would send a message that it's over. I figured if I picked someone up and it got back to her she'd know I was seriously moving on. That this turned into a steamy public make out thing just was a cherry on top for the situation.

1. Asked early on but... As stated she knows what she's doing. She wants to reel me back in. It's not about the texts so much as what she is hoping to accomplish with them.

2. I actually had never considered that as an option. You all forget that I'm a techno-Luddite. Honestly.

What I meant is that I would be looking like I was either beginning to date or was hooking up with someone. Her friends tell her what's up with me and they all knew I was still single. I figure if she thinks I'm in or starting a new relationship that she'll get the message. It's better for her too. She could easily find a boyfriend or at least a sugar daddy or something. She lives in Staten Island and I'm in Brooklyn. We weren't even seeing each other all that much at the end, and she was frankly asking me more for money than anything else. We didn't go out anymore or spend time together. It was always "Miguel, I need $1,000 for this. I need $300 for this. The girls' birthday is coming up and I need a few hundred dollars for presents..."

CC, I helped those kids through childhood but... They ain't mine. I've done my part. To give you more context, this woman could have easily gotten work but her excuses were pretty sad. "I can't take the subway in Manhattan. I'm claustrophobic." Even if that's true... Well that means that your fear is more important than putting food in your daughters' bellies. Full stop. And I like the girls fine, good kids, but again... They aren't my blood, sad to say. I've done a lot over the years but was feeling used more than anything. If I'm helping you out, I don't have a problem but you better be kicking in some too. Make the effort, ya'know? Take the advice I give about what to do, how to get a job ect. Let's put it this way... She's Dominican. She has a weave as lots of DR woman do. Okay... So she's asking me for money for her weave to get redone. I'm like, "Sister, why not forego that, cut your hair differently, keep it styled really simple and you would save on elaborate hair cuts ect.?" I'll pay for birthday presents for your kids, or for medicine or school clothes... But I draw the line at hundreds of bucks for your hair.

Onto a totally different subject...

I recently discovered this brand of olives, whole, with the pit, called Jeff's Naturals Castelvetrano Olives... Where have these things been all my life? I can't recommend them enough. Just on their own they are tasty but put into rice or salads or soups they add a rich flavor. They come in a brine that's not too salty either so the taste of the olive is what comes through. Give 'em their day in court.
