Random rant...I'm tired of users pissing on Avatar. You don't like the movie fine, no need to keep saying it 7 years after its release.
Edit : oh, and it applies for any movies, you don't like it, just don't crap on their dedicated thread, no one cares about your dislike, I least I don't.
I still feel no desire or temptation to see it.

Avatar is one of my favorite films, especially the extended director's cut. :)

That is your prerogative. No issue here, for what I recall, I don't remember you crapping over it on the Avatar thread over and over.

As it is mine.

My rant started about Avatar initially because of a post in the thread What's the most absurd thing a movie has ever made you accept?.
Then I edited to include any movies.
I sound like a get of my lawn grand'pa...whatever.

There's no argument movies sometimes ask a lot of us. For me if the story is good enough I can forgive a lot. :)

I don't think I've seen the extended cut. I have the theatrical cut on DVD and watch it on TNT when they show it. It has great visuals and action....so I like it.

The extended cut is really good, if you already like the theatrical cut that is.

Is Cameron like Ridley and has about a bajillion extended cuts of Avatar?

I think there's two....? I like the longer one best. It's got a decent amount added, 14 minutes or so.

Nothing aggravates me more than when you see a director's cut come out with only a stingy five or so minutes back in. Cameron has been decent with his, adding noticeable amounts of extra scenes. :)

I don't know if I've seen the extended cut.

I like Avatar a lot. Not sure that I need 4 sequels, but let's see what Cameron has to offer.

I need to watch Dances With the Wolves before giving Avatar a watch, just to see how much they both have in common.

It's true that Avatar repeated common themes but I still enjoyed the heck out of it anyhow. :)

I don't know if I've seen the extended cut.

If you saw this scene then you've seen the extended cut.

I don't think I've seen that. I know I only have 1 version of the film so I guess it's not the extended cut. What did I miss?

why?

ive never heard anything about the two being alike before at all.

if you want to know what Avatar is like, watch Ferngully, then Disney's Pocahontas. it's roughly a mashup of those

There were a lot of comparisons between those two films when Avatar first came out because Jake went native. I agree they are similar, but it didn't diminish the quality of Avatar for me at all.

Bit of a weird reason lol. Watch Dances with Wolves because it's a good film.
