Now this is some bs.

Why can't they be happy for a bunch of females kicking ass? Charlize is the true star of the film. Damn when we do get an awesome women lead flick and damned when we don't. I'm all for more female directors, but don't be salty whne a man does a great female flick. Hold me, Joss.

Gonna sit down and read 45 reviews of Mad Max. *NOT*

Watch every movie hire a female consultant now instead of a female director...because Mad Max. Sigh.

That's a weird complaint.

Ok so the reviews are great and it's officially the best reviewed summer release so far.

Why did the internet doubt Dr. Miller again?

yes I’m still mad about JUSTICE LEAGUE: MORTAL.

Outside of having two Batmen on screen and the cast, I remember some people making fun of the fact that his last few films were Babe and Happy Feet.

Lexi Alexander needs to go back to directing movies no one will watch. :o

Honestly, only the extremes on the tomatometer really matter. That 40-80% band is going all come down to personal taste, imo.

Which, so far, this movie is doing far better than many would've dreamed of. It will be interesting to see how it ends up. I don't think it is going to drop that much, with the current average rating.

Speaking of Miller, I really hope WB can get him for a DCCU movie. Maybe Green Lantern? Cyborg? A Vertigo adaption?

If it's a success, I imagine he'll be focused on a sequel for this. The man's 70+, it's not like he's got a whole boatload of projects left in him.

Though, if he were to do one, I'd like to see him put Aquaman together.

For some reason, this movie brings out the poet in every reviewer.

"The fourth instalment of George Miller’s punky post-apocalyptic ‘Mad Max’ saga feels like a tornado tearing through a tea party. In an age of weightless movie spectacles, here’s a movie that feels like it was made by kidnapping $150 million of studio money, fleeing with it to the Namibian desert, and sending footage back to Hollywood like the amputated body parts of a ransomed hostage."

Wasn't it already stated that if this movie is a financial success that Miller and Hardy are set for another 2 or 3 MM films?

Ridiculous, this opinion is.

I agree we need more female directors, I argue this point all the time, but the idea that you should crap on a male director for doing it right? That is just petty and wrong. Does this also mean that female directors shouldn't handle male heavy films? Should Kathryn Bigelow return her Oscar?

It's only when you read the actual tweet that you find the real point she was making...

@Lexialex It’s important to differentiate b/w hiring practices & 36yo passion project where creator wanted fem involvement in his production

@MBartyzel I'm not criticizing him. I know what studio execs are thinking now: "let's just get a consultant who'll shut up crazy feminists"

And the point is still off. The bitterness of her twitters revealed her intent.

Crazy feminist conspiracy theories. What fun! If only she had a self-awareness to match.

You know yesterday, I was thinking about Charlize Theron, and it dawned on me. As much as I like her, I don't think she is in any movie I truly like. Considering how long she has been around, that is kind of crazy. I mean, Monster is great and I like a few others, but no lazy weekend movies. Might finally have one.

Word.

She also won't bother to give him credit for making a kickass female movie. Max is a supporting character in his own flick. Furiosa is the lead.

I get her point but yes, Mad Max was and always has been Miller's baby. So why pick that and not I don't know, Avengers?

Or any other film that isn't be made by their creator? It basically implies that the heavy female presence means it should be a woman directing, which actually kind of pigeonholes female directors.

Hence, the bitterness.

It's fine not to agree with her point, but I thought it was weird to use Mad Max as her example.
Her point is negated by who she decided to pick an argument with.

Oh, the feminist death threats to Joss Whedon have already done that. Why jump on that tired bandwagon when you can find something fresh to b**** and moan about?

Lexi has a point, but it's misguided considering it's not even valid in regards to Fury Road. So she kinda does more harm to the cause than good.

The death threats are beyond stupid. I am not sure the critique of AoU is.
