Maine middle school to offer birth control

For the record, I was never against teach them about protection, not even at 11, I am just against the schools GIVING the protection to them.

Then were should they be getting the protection from?

1. It actually has a lot to do with psychology. As do other drugs that people build either a physical or mental dependancy on.

1,2 & 3. If it can be proven, they are facts. They have been proven, therefore are facts. I am in agreeance with you that a lot of psychology is speculation and theory. But there are solid, sound, facts in it as well.
It actually is part of a field called Pharmocology and psychopharmacology. It has to do with drugs effects on the body in general, and drugs affects on the brain, conciousness, etc. respectively.

you aren't even giving their propper names. Operant and Classical conditioning. They are not even facts. they're methods that work USUALLY BUT NOT ALWAYS. They are not reliable enough to be called "Law of Operate conditioning" or "The Classical Conditioning Principle".

Where the hell do you get yours from?
pharmacy, condom vending machines, online or sex shops and sometimes in the supermarket.

oh and a couple of times from school during Red ribbon day.

*g* of course I did, but I though a little bit of Literalization would unhinge ya a bit :p
for some reason I'm being REALLY short tempered in this argument. I'm taking it all way too personally and I have no idea why.

It really seems so, I mean sheesh, be glad you didn't live back in Shakespeare's time, after all his Juliet was only 14 years old.

Still had no clue a little girl could get pregnant at 11

um... I think it was 13, but you're point remains valid. Maybe it's my cousin. She's just 11 now, and I worry about her, you know? Mostly how she'll deal when her Mommy is sent to prison for murdering the poor tween who'd have sex with her.

That's what I talked about earlier. Scientific studies show, that thanks to our good nutritions and all in all better health we mature earlier now. It might even continue and kids might get fertile even earlier.

I thought it was all the hormones we were putting into the food we eat?

One of many problems today is that as a society, we tolerate wrong behavior far too often. The liberals haven't made it any easier, creating pseudo-legal barriers to "protect" people from the truth of right and wrong.

That might have a certain effect too but it seems that it is world wide phenomenon, allthough it is the strongest in industrialized countries.

Well if you think that is a shock, get out the defibulator (sp). There is at least one documented case of a girl getting pregnant at five years old. Yes, 5.

Yes...hormones will effect the child. :csad: This is insane. We are stripping away the innocence of our children. We are raping them socially. This is just wrong. There are other ways to handle kids at that age.

Half of those girls have already had their period already. Children are reaching puberty earlier and earlier these days. How does this "rape them socially"? You know what does rape them socially? Being pregnant at twelve.

It's not that it "makes" or "forces" children to become sexually active, but rather that many children see contrception as a license to become sexually active, and irresponsibly so. Responsibility isn't just about using biological protection; it's about having the utmost respect for both people involved. That includes having the maturity to say "no", and stick with it, when you know something is unhealthy, risky, or wrong...even if you don't like it.

Wake up, minors have been having sex since the dawn of civilization. That's not going to change.

No Moviefan, not the spiked *****! :wow:

I gotta ask what happened? Abortion? Did they wait for misscariage?

I dont know. I just remember reading about it in my psychology book. I think the girl was from Africa somewhere. But don't quote me on that.

I'll try to look it up and see if I can find it.
