Just watched it today and totally enjoyed it. Really hope we get a sequel. Between Cavills 60s American accent and Hammers russian accent
BTW, I think people have been way too quick to write this off as a flop or base overall reception solely on the U.S box office; as expected, it's doing well internationally:

I'm not sure why they're putting Cavill and Hammer into tent-pole film leads just yet?
Both haven't shown they can really really hold a blockbuster film on their own just yet.
Of course there was MoS but that wasn't sold on Cavill's name at the time and of course The Lone Ranger was a huge flop.
Well, it was originally a Cruise-starring vehicle. I believe they were already deep into production by the time Tom had dropped out (to do MI5).I'm not sure why they're putting Cavill and Hammer into tent-pole film leads just yet?

It was actually originally a George Clooney starring vehicle.Well, it was originally a Cruise-starring vehicle. I believe they were already deep into production by the time Tom had dropped out (to do MI5).
They were also terrible and panned critically across the board. Man of UNCLE is not and was not.International box office not enough to save a movie or greenlight a sequel.
Battleship made like over $200 million overseas and like $300 million worldwide. So did Green lantern.

Just came back from seeing this film, really enjoyed it. Wasn't sure how I was going to feel about the leads given the polarized response, but I thought they were nearly perfect and really brought life to it once the film got rolling. Would definitely not mind a sequel if it's in the cards. It's unfortunate it came up against a surprise juggernaut.
Eh it was fairly average. I don't think they really brought it to life. The film got pretty average reviews as well. Critics didn't love it.
That's not really enough to justify a sequel.Viewers gave it essentially a 4/5 on RT. I thought 8/10 (which I guess is pretty comparable). I consider that to be pretty good. An RT score of 67 isn't great, but, honestly, I don't listen to what critics say. I'm not a critic. I'm a movie fan and go to movies to enjoy them; not critique them.

I really liked this movie and would love a sequel, but it ain't getting one, folks. Best to start coming to terms with that now.
That will not be the case here. Not true. Pacific Rim made a huge loss at the US box office and it was solely the international box office that saved it AND greenlit the sequel.
I'm not saying that's going to happen here, for the record. I'm just saying the US box office isn't always the be-all end-all.
