Well I would like to see the Man from UNCLE done well, or at least decently. I didn't really care for it when Tom Cruise was attached, because it's the same old Cruise Shtick. However, once Cavill was attached it felt like it had more potential and I thought he was a better fit, not only for Napoleon Solo, but also physically alongside Armie Hammer.

Plus it would be nice if Hammer doesn't have two flops in a row either.

Wolf of Wall Street had a small part with it moving to January too (it took its Dec spot).

Scorcese and his editor didn't have time to deliver an R-rated cut in time for Thanksgiving, so Paramount gave it the Christmas Day spot once Scorcese finished it by its original date. Jack Ryan was already finished, so it got moved to January 2014.

I thought Jack Ryan was supposed to be released at Christmas time. What happened?

More the latter. I think this film's box office potential would be up in the air no matter what, but January/February tends to be a dumping ground for crap. Not all the time though; you do have your outliers like Shutter Island.

February is starting to lose that stigma that once plagued March and April. All contingent on whether the studios have a genuinely good movie and market it well. February releases benefited The LEGO Movie, Shutter Island, Safe House and Identity Thief. But it's not a foolproof month either.

Whenever a January release hits $50M or more in its opening weekend, it's going to be a more viable month too. You have these outliers like Ride Along, Lone Survivor and the first Taken making a ton of money in an otherwise slow month.

David McCallum has expressed no interest in appearing in the movie at all,

From a recent interview:

McCallum believes a cameo in the film adaptation would be a bad idea, telling Digital Spy: "They're wise enough to know that it becomes a gimmick.

"I don't want to do it, and they don't want me to do it."

While Robert Vaughn would love a cameo:

“Some feelers have come my way about a cameo role, which I would absolutely do, no
question,” says Robert.
“It was a turning point in my life and I shall be forever grateful for the show.”

At the moment haven't heard anything to confirm if Robert did manage to make an appearance in the film.

Nah, when it was in production it was expected to be a late 2014 release by some outlets, but the first release date that was actually announced was January 2015. Either way, doesn't bode well, lol.
