Still waiting for Cavill's mos follow up and it turns out to be BvS, 3 years later.
The fellas(and lady) at marvel/fox do try to keep busy between shows. Must be kinda frustrating for his fans.

And for them to see fit to release it in Jan? Come on guys. The Jan following Starwars...August is better but not by much imo. Mid august still comes with a stigma for me(let's just take a look at what the rest of the month has in store for example). Though that seems to be changing. Should have just made it a fall release. Coming off of BvS at that.

Anyone know what other big films WB has that summer?

It was moved from Jan 2015 to August 2015. All before Star Wars and BvS. So I am not sure what you are talking about.

This is Cavill's 4th consecutive major movie to be pushed back!

Immortals kept getting pushed back because financing kept falling through. Man Of Steel was pushed back from December 2012 to summer 2013. BvS pushed back 10 months from 2015 to 2016. And now U.N.C.L.E pushed back from Jan to August 2015. The man can't catch a break!

It is still absurd to me that in the prime of his youth from 2011 to 2016 (both years included), Cavill will have had only 4 film in 6 years! The man needs to do more movies! And more different kind of movies, not just studio tentpoles like these 4 films.

Sam Worthington syndrome, he better watch his ass. He was supposed to be the it guy as of late. Now it's Pratt.

Name one Superman actor who had a great post Superman career in cinema?

Dat face of Henry's is damn bah gawd pretty. He needs moar roles doe.

I personally don't think he's in any trouble, especially with DC's now moving and shaking. That being said, some guys just seem to have all the luck. Currently it looks to be Pratt.

It's not just landing the roles but the films themselves being hits. Kitsch had his go but it didn't work out, same with Reynolds. With Cavill it's like he's(agent or whomever) is just being super picky or something). If he isn't announced in that Aurthur reboot that would be a damn shame.

Someone in the Cavillry needs to be his agent to get him more roles!!

:o

Honestly I still can't pinpoint Cavill's personality quirks, that's part of the prob. Is he sarcastic, is he shy, does he eat cereal out the box? Yes, this banal **** matters to the public.

Landing the Jurassic Park lead was a major coup for Pratt. And that's the thing, these Marvel guys are staying in the lime-light, building on their careers. Pratt will have two superhit movies in 2014 and 2015! He's got the Lego movie too this year. And he's been in Best Picture nominees the last 3 years - Moneyball, Zero Dark Thirty (his career altering role arguably) and Her.

Guardians and Lego sequels already announced and dated and Jurassic will follow suit soon.

Its all happening for Pratt right now.

Yes he is Superman but the Fleck has been snatching up the media blitz. Not purposely, it's mostly our fault.

Someone forgot about the classic, "The Cold Light of Day". :hehe:

San Andreas and Pan. Everything else is either low-risk (the Sophia Vergara/Reese Witherspoon comedy) or a follow-up/spinoff/remake like Mad Max: Fury Road, Entourage, Magic Mike 2, Point Break and now this.

tbh, I keep forgetting pratt was in lego movie. That's kinda the way it goes for me with animated films. Same with Frozen or HTTYD or whatever else. Outside of LionKing, it was like that way with me and 90's disney as well. I suppose Dreamworks tends to make a big deal out of their casting but it's hard to tell cause they almost never have hits(outside of Shrek). But that's me.

Pratt has been landing some solid roles. The marvel guys do keep busy, though given their contracts(pay in particular), I can't blame them for getting out there with their new found relevance.

Gal should have sold an arm and a leg to land in Mad Max as anything. WB would have been like:

I see, I suspect WB won't be the big studio winner that particular year.

Even Scarlett is now opening action films on her name alone (beating the Rock no less) and doing critically-acclaimed challenging arthouse films on the side too. Gal should hope she can have such a career.

Scarlett has been making fantastic career decisions over the last few years. I'm not a huge fan of her acting (she's not bad, just ok to me), but I can't hate one bit. Gal and other rising stars who get breakouts via big blockbusters would be wise to follow her example, imo.

The Rock makes some strange choices sometimes. It's like his career is in powder keg mode and everyone is waiting for it to explode(in a good way) but these fickle films he keeps leading. Gotta love his passion but seriously, get with it. A Ratner Hercules could have been a fun hit(the directors has made some fun and i suppose cool stuff in the past) but damn it read the script and then read it backwards.
Now Shazam...again I suppose that could be something, the same way Quill 'could have been something' but there are far more obvious wins out there.

I haven't seen the Lucy film yet but I honestly see any decent female lead selling that movie given it's premise/director/marketing. Angelina would have no doubt opened it bigger. Portman should have reunited with Luke...Kudos to Scarlett though.

I'd like for CavEl to start booking some things. No rom coms though.

IIRC there was a test screening for this a few months back. I didn't care much for the project though so I never bothered to dig around on what the reactions were.

Pratt is charismatic as hell. I can see why he's the new big thing right now. The internet would explode if someone cast him and JLaw in a movie together.

I hope Cavill's agent finds him a role or two in a small drama or indie dramedy film where he can showcase his acting chops a bit. I think the guy is really talented but people might not realize it if he only sticks to action flicks.
