I'm surprised they didn't get old Beckham to do some movie or tv work before now. Dude is like the Michael Jordan of soccer/football/whatever you call it.

But he is also utterly and completely charmless.

Yeah, Beckham has no charisma whatsoever beyond his good looks. I remember when he was on the Ali G show with Victoria. She was charming and funny but he seemed to have no personality at all.

When Beckham opens his mouth, out comes this tiny, high-pitched whiney voice that completely undermines his masculine looks. He wouldn't seem like a tough guy at all. He seems more like he might break down and cry as he did sometimes when he got sent off the pitch or substituted for another player before he wanted to come off. Also, his wife tends to dress him most of the time.

I can understand Vinnie Jones going into movies as he seems like a hard man and also sounds like one too, but Beckham is completely the opposite. It's not like he can act either and play more sensitive characters.

No, Beckham is an amazing athlete, attractive as heck, extremely charming and a great humanitarian who gives back a lot more than most professional athletes.
Yeah his voice is a little high pitched but whatever.

On the kind of person he is, Beckham revealed that with his move to Real Madrid. He enjoys being a celebrity and pretty much everything he does is geared towards that.

He is a terrible actor and has zero charisma.

He can be good in movies where he doesn't have to emote or doesn't have a lot of dialogues. Kinda like what Golsing does for Refn or Pattinson for Cronenberg.

Maybe if he plays a silent killer, then he might work. But his Achilles heel will be when someone pulls out a red card. Then he'll break down in floods of tears and walk away dejected.

I don't know if the price tag on U.N.C.L.E. is small enough to warrant the MLK weekend release, but it doesn't sound good. Maybe WB is trying Universal's tactic of a 12-month release period, but man...

I expect Guy Ritchie will do a fairly good interpretation of The Man From Uncle, but it is difficult to envision anyone in their respective roles other than Robert Vaughn, David McCallum, and Leo G. Carroll.

Has the "Mr. Waverly" part been cast yet?
