Gosh this is going to be amazing. Ritchie and spy films, what a great combo.

Plus that motorbike photo? Very erotic

Why does his hair look more like Superman's here than either in MOS or BvS?
Because they style his hair horribly as Superman for some reason. He looks more like Superman in random candids as himself than he does AS Superman on film. But I do think BvS looks like an improvement in that department so far.

Also, with all these new pictures, my trailer-sense is tingling. Any word on when we should be expecting it?

My gut tells me that we'll get one at the end of January or first week of February in time for Jupiter Ascending. I doubt this is the case, though.

It's a shame they're not giving Armie Hammer the Beatles mop haircut that Ilya Kuryakin often wore in the TV series.

Hammer seems to have shorter hair here in this movie.

Haha no bowl cuts ever! It's a bad idea, not even doctor octopus had a bowl cut in sm2

Yeah, a bowl cut was never going to happen. They're going to want to play off the looks of both leads. A bowl cut would just make Hammer look like some sort of pervert. :o

That's not really the character's "signature" look anyway. At least, whenever I watched the show, he had shorter hair.

So can we get Vaughn and McCallum to cameo in this film, pretty please? Heck they are constant jokes/references to them having starred in the TV show in their other projects over the years.

Kind of odd Ritchie ended up directing The Man From Uncle given his former producer and friend Matthew Vaughn believed the original Napoleon Solo actor Robert Vaughn was his paternal dad growing.

They're hiding this movie. :o

I never saw this show. Is he supposed to be a spy or something?

They're both spies - one American, one Russian.

Is it set back in the 60's? They were working together?

Yes, during the height of the Cold War. But this movie seems to show how they first started working together before joining UNCLE. In the show, they already were part of it and it was a more established international spy organisation. I don't know if they'll both be a part of UNCLE until the end of the movie, which just makes them CIA and KGB agents working together.

Sounds interesting. Maybe I will check this out.

I think Im gonna look for some old episodes to see.

You might find it easier to look for the theatrically-released movies which were edited together from several episodes with additional footage:

  • To Trap a Spy (1964)
  • The Spy with My Face (1965)
  • One Spy Too Many (1966)
  • One of Our Spies Is Missing (1966)
  • The Spy in the Green Hat (1966)
  • The Karate Killers (1967)
  • The Helicopter Spies (1968)
  • How to Steal the World (1968)

I really wish that they got Alexander Skargaard instead of Hammer. I don't even think Hammer look ethnically Russian, if that makes sense. Like if I didn't know who Hammer was and saw him on the streets, I would think he's pretty American looking.

Well Skarsgard definitely looks more like David McCallum than Armie Hammer does.

In fact, there is a pretty strong resemblance, especially in that 2nd picture. It is a shame they didn't get him. But if they did, then they'd need someone who looked similar to Robert Vaughn as well.
