Cavill has already replaced Tom Cruise as Napoleon Solo in The Man from U.N.C.L.E. (directed by Guy Ritchie). Armie Hammer (Johnny Depp's co-star in The Lone Ranger) is listed in the supporting role. Potentially 5 more Superman films. You can't see he has 5 more. Also I love Cavill but just because he replaced Tom Cruise on the Man from U.N.C.L.E doesn't mean he's suddenly this huge star whose a box office draw like Cruise (also remember Cruise left that project he wasn't fired in favour of Cavill).

why wouldn't it it had only been out for 28 days us and 21 days foreign people forget that just about all of mos major foreign markets are a week late and some more major markets are even more late than most

and u forget the two markets that haven't opened yet can bring in another 70 mil and mos will make another 170-250 mil day to day os in the rest of its run .you are comapring mos with movies that has open thier foreign market first so in reality mos hasn't been out a month os just half of mos markets has been open for 21 days the rest7-14 days and more yet to open so it can make it.

Ok dalonewolf, I like that your a fan, but you mention common sense and then don't seem to use it.

There are two major markets left, that if we are lucky will get $70mil. Where do you get the $170-250mil numbers? That is your math on that? Your source? Have you noticed the weekly OS drop off?

Do you really want to bring up The Dark Knight? By the end of its 4th week, The Dark Knight had $454m domestically. It had 7 weeks of double digits domestically. By the end of its run it made $534mil. MoS is going to have trouble making it to $300mil domestically. So then MoS has to make up $230mil plus OS to make up the difference.

Look at the OS numbers for TDK and MoS. MoS is trailing in most major markets, with weaker openings in most as well. This comes with 3D and inflation. If The Dark Knight opened in China, this wouldn't even be a discussion. It would have made $500m OS easily.

I don't get why people compare MOS box office to films like Iron Man 3 or the Dark Knight. It was a reboot, not a sequel so it shouldn't be compared to sequels in terms of box office.

Read various OW predictions for PR. Seems to be in the 40-50 mill range. Sounds like some late buzz could help it.

Saw 5.8 mill prediction this weekend for MOS.

I am genuinely curious why the poster continue to tell everyone why he is so sure these things are going to happen, even while the numbers are clearly showing something else. I am all for optimism. But if you are just going to keep posting stuff like this, I want to know why.

As the numbers come in, and we are fairly along at this point, the poster continues to predict completely irrational figures, for no rhyme or reason.

There is a difference between predicting something before a film is released. It is not easy, and thus it is easily forgotten. It is different when people tell you your prediction is wrong over and over again. That was the thing about $800mil+ crowd. They made it seem like blaspheme if you predicted any less.
