I want to see it twice but dont want to start my mos run all over
20 times seeing a movie I need help.
lol
I wont see it anymore my wife mite leave me cuz see havent been able to get her hair and nails done these pass few weeks.
hmmm I wonder where all the extra money is going lmao

Is Pacific Rim really underperforming? What were people expecting from it? It's a new property with no stars to its name. It's a sad world we live in when crap like Grown Ups 2 can beat it out, but I didn't realize expectations were so high.

The most puzzling underperformance of the summer for me is Star Trek Into Darkness. The only real explanation is the four year delay between the original and sequel really hurt it but that doesn't even make much sense to me... I was confident it would surpass the original domestically.

A big reason to both those questions...marketing.

The film was a homage to the Japanese super-robot genre. It probably had as large a following as "Speed Racer" or DBZ as opposed to the larger following "Transformers" had, which was based on a Japanese toy-line that Hasbro made popular in American during the 1980's.

So it seems about $5.6M opening in Brazil, that would mean it the holdovers pulled in around $17M for the entire week.

Last weekend in the top 10, so i guess this weekend marks the beginning of the slow crawl towards its final tally.

Domestic: $280,995,000
Foreign: $338,200,000
-------------------------------
Worldwide: $619,195,000

Wow... My prediction of 620mil WW after this weekend is right there with the actual number. 700 mil isn't a ? Anymore, it will get there. The only question now is can beat TASM WW total.

Well its well past 250 so you should be happy. I don't get why ur so down on this movie. It's done very good business for a reboot and a sequel with a never before seen villain and new Lex will do great

He's just winding people up...and others on this thread are doing the same thing. We need to treat them like children and ignore their negative behaviour.woot:

No idea, but just to throw something out there around $6M might sound right. We do have a member here from Brazil so we could just wait for him/her or until the numbers come out.

Kryptonian God is from Brazil so hopefully they show up soon. Isn't it very early Monday morning down there?

That's great, just think what this film might have done had it had a few more weeks without all the big competition.

We still need solid hold overs WW until Japan has its opening. I think it will for sure cross 700m WW but I want it to pass ASM. Either way MOS has proven its a success and had WB opened it outside of such tough competition week after week then we could be seeing an 800 to 900m WW movie

At least for the domestic take. The film still hasn't opened in Japan. It they get a similar box office to what they got in China (or what IM3 got in Japan) that could mean another $35-$47 million.

ASM debut 6.6 in Brazil on it's way to 30.3 total.

Worried about late start in Japan. May cut into totals a little.

I still think it will crawl to 300 and ultimately have a ww 700-750. Not knocking your enthusiasm, I think 800-900 is high.

TASM made about 15M from its 1 month mark to the end of its 3 month run. MOS at its 1 month mark is slightly outpacing TASM at the same point so I think that MOS making an additional 20M from here on out to get to that 300M Domestic total is very doable especially if WB keeps it in theaters longer than what is usual.

Although some are saying it will make no more than an additional $5 million. :funny:

I said had WB not put it up against competition week after week since it opened. It had one week to itself after that WWZ MU DM2 GU2 PR The Heat WHD all took away from it

Don't you think 800-900 is more applicable for MOS2?

Still feel like the South Korea numbers are a little disappointing.

Whether box office number is 295 or 300, it's a success. 300 sounds better but we're getting a sequel even if the number stopped today.

I'm happy with the UK numbers. :woot:
And China's numbers are really good as well. It beat TASM's China numbers.
