You can acknowledge competition? That is amazing. The way you make it sound at times, you'd think MoS was the only movie out there. :woot:
how in the world do I make it sound as if mos is tge only movie out there
when im saying that thier is a lot of competition out there
mos making 1.1 mil ig good rather u like it or not.
8 new movies has hit the theater's and mos is still above 1,000,000 with its legs cut off as much as people on this site claims mos should have been below a mil a long time ago

Going off topic, is Pacific Rim any good?

Not sure how you'll take to the story/characters but the fights are just awesome. The Hong Kong sequence is worth the price of admission alone.

It was ok for me... Not something I will watch twice at the theater. The Jaeger vs Kaiju scene were the best part of the movie. When it wasn't those scene the movie drag badly and lack any type of character development/interaction (this part ruin the movie for me along with some bad acting). This is a B movie that for what it was gears for did it's job. People will enjoy it for just the Jaeger fighting the Kaiju and nothing more. If you are hoping for a good story/pot you'll be disappointed. It will probably do how WWZ is doing at the BO.

WWZ is doing quite well. If PR can match the success of that movie I'll be quite happy.

I'm not looking for a movie that takes itself seriously. I just want my belief to be suspended and transported for a couple of hours.

Agreed. I like Guillermo del Toro and hope that PR can be successful so he can get Justice League Dark green light by WB. I would love him to direct some of DC up coming movie. I also want WB to hire Neill Blomkamp to direct GL or do any of DC's movie as well.

Blomkamp recently said he wasnt interested in directing franchises such as Trek and Star Wars

I wish Neil was chosen to do SW ep 7.

Whoever directs that movie sets the tone for the entire trilogy.

I don't trust JJ Abrams.

I'd also love to see what Neil could do with Justice League.

I just wanted to add that I am REALLY looking forward to Elysium in a few weeks .
It looks great.

Yes, I would love to see him Direct JL too... If Elysium is as good as District 9 or better... I'm all for Neil Blomkamp to direct any DC movie he wants... This guy is young and very talented... WB need to add him to their list of Director.

When it's all done it'll finish at 750-785 WW. It will hold the All-Time WW BO for a reboot.

?

I'm not sure it will hit $700mm WW. Very little chance it passes TASM.

Still a good haul, but lets not be delusional.

Let's see who's right... It'll probably hit 615-620+ WW after this weekend so getting to 700 mil WW will happen... Passing TASM will be a bonus... :woot:

I was listening to Leonard Maltin's review of Pacific Rim and he liked it as far as giving it 2 1/2 out of 4 stars which means it just a big dumb summer movie, nothing more.

I'll wait and see how it does this weekend before seeing it, not a big Guillermo Del Toro fan and don't see what all the hubbub is all about.
