And here in lies the problem. Fanboys are content with table scraps.

First off, be careful how you phrase stuff to avoid insulting anyone. Secondly, you didn't have to be a fanboy to eat up MOS. Most of the time it's fanboys making comments like yours and going from one extreme or the other.

Heck, most of the people I know who loved it and saw it multiple times are casuals of the genre.

The big selling point for JL was always the first interaction of Superman and Batman. That won't be there now since we're getting it here first.

The JL movie is going to be severely anti-climactic.
I'm glad we are getting introduced to the new Batman in MOS2 rather than in the JLA film. Superman meeting Bruce/Batman right off in the JLA film would have been another plot point the filmmakers would have had to cover, and it gives a film like JLA more room to breath if the two are already familiar with each other in a previous film.
I bet Batman and Superman are going to round up all the hero's, who knows. Many people don't like what Bruce Timm did with Superman, but I loved the origin episode/animated film of the JLA series. It pulled off the making of the team beautifully.

Yup. I just think there relationship is so wonderful and has been sorely missed. If what happened to General Zod had taken place after the two had met, I would've disappointed if Batman didn't check in. It's what we see in the comics all the time and I hope it's done right in this universe. I also don't want this to be the last time they have a film together, just the two I them, though I still want solo outings, too.

Oh please, get off your high horse already :whatever:
If you hated MoS so much, fine, but quit that attitude, the mods had to delete your messages where you accused us of having such low standars that any pile of dog**** would make us happy.

Yup, pretty pathetic. Can't believe someone can be that dramatic.

So is it's BO from now on irrelevant in the wake of the sequel news here? Does anyone still care that much if this gets to $300m domestic or $700m ww?

Let's just say $300M domestic and $700M WW are both dead or on life support.

I care...but not enough to follow all the details. We have our announcement and a sequel announcement this early on is a clear sign of a successful film.

Yeah both we're long shots but right before the announcement you still had a lot of people in the thread pointing out ways it could happen and debating every weekday total.

I just sort of feel with the sequel announcement the box office debate and intrigue is kind of done?

Well there isn't really that much left to discuss in the grand scheme of things unless people wanna start arguing how $300M is still possible.

Damn....Snap!
As for the BO, only reason I paid much attention is to have of there will be a sequel. We got it so I'm happy.

yeah......I really don't see this reaching $300m.

the momentum is just not there to carry it.......

I think we'll be lucky if this slowly crawls to $290 in the next 3 or 4 weeks.

still impressive, regardless.

Oh this isn't much fun...where is everybody going on BOM and showing how this movie will definitely cross $300M like they did a couple of weeks ago.

I could definitely see this getting a boost from the Batman/Superman announcement. Similar to Batman Begins DVD sales leading to TDK.

I can't wait for the MoS2/WF Box office poll where $2.5 billion will be an option...

Yes and no.
Once the announcement was made the significance of the $300m domestic & $700 ww numbers was reduced to less than zero.
It would be nice to hit 300 and 700 but it really doesn't matter anymore.
Cavill is going to be back in the suit and that's all that matters.

I think people need to temper their expectations about box office for WF

I'm setting my bar low and hoping it at least hits the 1 billion mark. People are over-hyping the box office draw of these two combined if they think even 1.5 billion is a lock. 1.5 billion might even be a stretch to reach.

Depends on the quality of the film and it's legs, competition, release date and etc.

yeah....what did happen to Tobias??

For all we know, Tobias is some mid level WB suit who was trying to convince them to go the World's Finest route instead of doing MOS2.
He's probably out celebrating his victory.

The film still made bank. It had alot of good WOM and bad as well and some big time films really cut the legs off MOS.

Made more money that TASM domestically.

That's what I said.

People need to take your advice. We had someone here say a World's Finest would draw Avatar numbers.
