Only a matter of time anyway Routh fans cant deny the inevitable, just hope the "I wont watch the new movie if Routh isn’t in it" crowd take their nonsense elsewhere once the new Supes is finally announced.

There's a few out there that have a deep attachment and loyalty to him playing Superman. And have every right to chime in there support for him (in the appropriate sections and threads as far as forums go), and the choice to choose not to see any other actor in the role.

They are not representative of the general audience, imo and I therefore not worry about that. However, I do understand the initial annoyance at that kind of attitude.

Peace and love guys peace and love, Superman would have it no other way.

Yep. Hope we get a great film period. That's what GA's are craving for, I feel. Great solid films, stories, acting, etc. from beginning to end.

And I wish Brandon Routh well and am glad he was the MOS in SR. My first memory of 2006 will forever be SR, Bryan Singer, and Brandon Routh. Good times.

In my book that's official enough for me. However I think the "official, official" for some peeps will be when the announcement of the actor playing Superman in this reboot. It will be the last nail in the coffin of "official" and will not be disputed.

Maybe its because there are quite a few threads on him to talk about him being Superman in the SV section (TW thread, TW manips as Supes thread, etc.). You could ask the mods to clarify that thru a PM perhaps. That's my understanding.

Brandon the Oscar calibre Routh also has his own section, in case you were unaware it's underneath this one. This has been announced as a reboot, so Welling is no more a stranger in these parts than Routh. Peace and love people peace and love, that’s what Superman would want.

I don’t have a problem with anything but bias, I don’t really care where the Welling fans or Routh fans house their threads but many posters have a point when they say Routh thread doesn’t belong here anymore. This is the untitled Superman film section not the Superman Returns or Superman returns sequel section. Either way I am not a mod and I believe a mod has already shed light on the potential movements of this thread in the near future so I will leave it at that.

So.. I spent a week in the "phantom zone" for posting a video with swearing, and a select few attempt to hijack this thread. Crazy.

IMO, until we get an official announcement regarding who is playing Superman, this thread belongs here. If Scott Pilgrim was any indication, there is bound to be TONS of Superman-related questions to and about Brandon Routh by the media regarding Snyderman... logically, they should be posted here.

The one shot that made me chuckle was the shot in which 'Doomsday' was choking Superman with the chains, made me chuckle for the simple fact that he let out a wierd cry.

If they ever did do Doomsday in a film I'd be torn between having a fully CGI character like Hulk & having a large actor in a suit, largely because there should be alot of interaction with a live action Superman & I know in TIH when Hulk was standing opposite Blonsky(?) it made it look kinda.. well fake. He looked ok fighting another CGI character, but when hes in direct contact with a live action actor it looks bizzare.

We didn't actually see too much of Doomsday in full flow on Smallville, but in the shots with the lighting/filters all taking effect I thought the suit looked pretty sweet.. and that was on a TV budget.

If you had a blockbuster budget going into the creation of a suit it should look 10x better & even more imposing than the Smallville one. You could obviously use CGI for some of the more elaborate fighting maneuvers, however the shots in close range of a struggling Superman & a snarling Doomsday would look so much better and realistic.
