I've seen the reactions to TASM be pretty evenly an straight foward split.

Either you liked it or you didn't. No real inbetween.

In my circle of friends, TAS is widely considered the best Spider-Man movie yet.

The reviews on Netflix suggest it's gone over very well with the average moviegoer, despite what a few Slashfilm forum posters say.

I am truly excited that Webb is returning. IMO, he did a great job on ASM and I look forward to his work on the sequel. Let's hope he continues with the character driven story and also picks up some better techniques for the action sequences. Not that he did a bad job but I'd imagine the scope of the action will be increased in the next film.

I'm glad to hear Webb is coming back, and of course Garfield who is excellent. I think Webb should be given the chance to finish the trilogy, just as Raimi had his. TASM was good but the sequel has every possibility of being a lot better.

It's a good thing he's returning, i've been saying that since day one. However, I am just saying that the movie isn't as universally praised as this forum tends to make it out to be.
