Mark Millar/Dave Gibbon's THE SECRET SERVICE - Directed By Matthew Vaughn

No one in my theater really responded to the trailer when it was shown. This looks mediocre to me, but I like Vaughn's work so hopefully Im proven wrong

Somebody basically called it Harry Potter as James Bond, haha. And unless it gets crazier concept wise it may as well be. It's a very slick and classy looking trailer, but who knows.

New trailer

Looks better, but Im still not sure about it. Will have to wait for reviews to see if I wanna see it in theaters

Looks very entertaining.

The cinematography has that weird 'digital' look with the steady cam work, especially with the fights. (doesn't look pure 24 fps) but it looks good.

And maybe the lead actor playing Eggsy could use some cough..fillers for his eye bags, haha.

It looks very stylish, that's what I get from it. Now if the story can match remains to be seen.

Colin Firth as an action hero is so unbelievable and odd - but I gather that's part of the joke.

Dont think this will do that well at the box office though. Going against 50 Shades of Grey and all that

Looks very stylish and entertaining. Hopefully, Vaughn will also deliver on the story.

Very different core audience so there's no competition, but it will still make a lot less than 50 Shades. If it's lucky it might do Kick Ass numbers but more likely around Kick Ass 2.

I love Vaughn, and this looks okay, but I wish he would be spending his time doing better projects than this personally, this looks like something more up Edgar Wrights street.

Nah anytime 1 movie opens against another it's at least some competition or struggle with the audience mostly when it comes to opening weekend. You have to factor in date nights and stuff like that to.

I will agree with you that I see it doing Kick ass 2 numbers

The film just doesn't look very appealing to the masses, in my opinion. I do think it might turn out as a good movie because of Matthew Vaughn.

well those are sh**y

A lot of early word on this is that it's pretty good

Really like Vaughn as a director, have not read the GN though, hate Millar as a writer and he comes across as a complete d**k as well.

Trailers look solid, might give it a whirl.

Looking forward to this. Matt Vaughn hasn't made a bad CBM in fact both have been great IMO so this could wind up being the best CBM of 2015

People had a screening recently and said it's on par with Kick-Ass in terms of violence and over the top-ness. I was honestly expecting a PG-13 deal.

Just seen the 'red band' trailer and has the feel of Kick Ass very much in how it's delivered. I think Vaughn is an exceptional talent and I know he hates the studio system, everytime he gets near, he realises he can't work in it's confined approach so a big CBM film looks unlikely (ie. Marvel Studios or WB/DC) unfortunately, but the thought of an Aquaman film with him as director would be something.

I hated the idea of this at first. But the more I have seen, the better it looks. I have liked all of Vaughns movies so far, so I am sure he will like this. I hope he returns to big Blockbusters some day though, he is perfect for them, as First Class showed.

Wouldnt mind him directing Kick Ass 3 either.

Love the red band trailer, the last section of chaos was awesome.

Nice use of the I know What You Did Last Summer cover of Hush.:up:

You can stick these underground guys into the Hollywood system and expect them to mesh. Until dudes like Vaughn and Wright pull a Nolan and make somebody a ****ing mint, they won't have that pull.

How it syncs with the action gave me life :awesome:

And why has Colin Firth not been considered for Bond?
