Marvel’s First Family Casting Thread

re: the 4chan leak being true, all we need to get closer to this being credible is for two cast members to be confirmed that have not been confirmed yet. The names are Lauren Lapkus and Jerome Flynn. The other supporting actors have either already been confirmed or already appeared ina previous Ant-Man film.

Adam Sandler for Ben Grimm

there is a marvel character i think Sandler would have been perfect for. He looks like a burnt match/computer glitch though. forgot the name he was on one of the Marvel maybe even DC teams.

i would have to draw it for you. but it looks like one of those inflatable men you see at used car lots but is black with a big eye and a small eye. like picasso drew it.

These two are my personal top choices for Sue and Johnny:

Nicole Beharie is an amazing actress who can easily convey the range needed for Sue and not lose out to the bigger personalities of the other three.

Mason Gooding' s previous work is all her Johnny and he's shown that he has the charisma need for Johnny. Also he's the right age, being the same age as Tom Holland.

My latest thoughts as to a MCU FF cast:

Reed:
John Krasinski (Mostly based on the recent rumors but I'd be cool with him)

Sue:
Lily James is my top choice but I like the Anne Hathaway suggestion I've seen on here. Amanda Seyfried I think would be a good choice as well. Emily Blunt has never struck me as a good fit despite being Krasinski's wife IRL.

Johnny:
This is tricky for me as I'm not really familiar any young actors, but I want someone around Tom Holland's age. Tanner Buchanan whose been suggested certainly has the right look for the character and is the right age.

Ben:
Seth Rogen remains my top choice

Jason Beghe from Chicago PD would be an amazing Ben Grimm, he has the perfect voice for it. But they will probably go with a bigger name.

He’s really good in that show…

Lily James is also my top choice for Sue, and Seth Rogen for Ben. Tanner Buchanan could work for Johnny.

He's 61 though, and at some point Ben Grimm would have to appear human and Beghe would look too old for that. I don't really like his voice too.

Could it be or am I reaching farther than Mr. Fantastic?

Reed -- Henry Golding

Sue -- Amanda Seyfried

Johnny -- Charlie Plummer

Ben -- Oliver Jackson-Cohen

I was telling my girlfriend how cool it was that it looked like there was a shot of Reed Richards sitting in a chair in the new Dr. Strange movie. She just looked blankly at me for a moment and changed the subject lol.

Ask her if she wants to watch The Notebook and tell her you're cooking dinner and have a nice bottle of wine you've been saving (then go out and buy one). If you want any suggestions, go to the Kitchen thread.

I just finished watching the Veronica Mars series and it never occurred to me that Kristen Bell might make a pretty good Sue Storm until someone mentioned it the other day.

Post-MoM:

Reed:
John Krasinski

Sue: Anne Hathaway
Johnny: Dacre Montgomery
Ben: Seth Rogen

This whole F4 forum has become a spoiler minefield - so glad i watched MoM on opening day. Or else I would avoid all news like the plague and would probably have been spoiled by now because of all the YouTube MCU related channels using the thumbnail of the actor who shall not be named as Reed - so stupid they can post his pic but caption it as "SPOILER" whats the point lol

F4 comprised of actors rumored to be up for the film

You know, Evan Peters wouldn't have been a bad Torch at one time. I guess he's too old now, plus they've already used him.

So here's the latest rumors. Rudy Pankow for the Torch and Elizabeth Lail as Sue. Could be garbage, but the site has some credibility. I'm not familiar with either actor, but they look the part. Elizabeth Lail looks young to me (she's 30), so I wondered if she would match up with Krasinski as Mr. Fantastic (if it's him). Krasinski is 42. Some might have a problem with that age gap, but I don't. Reed has always been older than Sue in the comics (not sure by how much).

I don't buy the latest rumors myself, though I'd be open to those castings.

Lail was up for the CW Supergirl role several years back , and she was good as Frozen's Anna on Once Upon A Time , so she's got a past with Disney.

But I still don't believe they are our new Sue and Johnny, though , it's always possible they've auditioned , or are being looked at.

I saw a new video saying maybe they're giving Dakota Fanning the role. Supposedly she's signed on with Marvel, but there's no report on who she's playing. Sue Storm is just speculation. I'd prefer the Elizabeth Lail idea myself, but I wouldn't revolt over Dakota Fanning.

She's 28, compared with Lail 30, so if they're sticking with Krasinski as Mr. Fantastic, they're really going for the age gap relationship. I actually find this impressive, since I would think this would be against the political leanings of the day (at least the Hollywood ones). Shows a little courage.
