really need to work on the animation for this game. It really wasnt good in MUA. Many times they just felt generic or robotic and not as fluid or animated as they should have been
That was my beef with the XML games. Why does Juggernaut grab people by the head in XML but when you play as him in XML2 he just shoves like everyone else? They really need to individualize the character animations in this game. Have it like a tradtioanl fighting game where everyone has their own moves. And back with XML I made huge lists like everyone here has been doing, but I don't think they should increase the character numbers anymore. Just add skins for the heroes that don't get in. Ex: Hulk would have a Colossus skin, as well as a Thing skin, etc, etc.
My list would be:
Elementals- Iceman, Human Torch/Sunfire, Storm
Tanks- Thor, Sentry/Wonder Man, Colossus/Hulk/Thing/Sasquatch, Iron Man/War Machine
Energy- Cyclops, Gambit, Scarlet Witch
Scrappers- Spider-Man, Beast/Tigra, Wolverine/X23/Blade, Luke Cage, Captain America, Spider-Woman
Mental- Cable, Phoenix, Psylocke, Justice
Other- Vision, Nightcrawler, Polaris, Quicksilver, Rogue, Goliath/Giant Man(I wonder how they'd use him? Would he just always be big? That would make sense, but then he'd take up way too much space and block the action), SS(I really don't know how to classify him, he could be a tank or a energy character), Invisible Woman, Mr. Fantastic, Dr. Strange, Northstar
I'm really tired, so the list sucks, just fill in everyone I missed that s_m_2 posted. And I hope the flying is improved, so that they can have some truly monstrous environments. It would be hard with co-op, since you can't have someone flying up high when the other is controlling a ground pounder. It would be cool to have splitscreen for two players, but three or four and you'd have to limit the flyers. Online would be the **** though, you could have Thor, Storm, The Human Torch and SS just torturing everyone on the ground.
And with the new Spidey game, they NEED to follow the 616 continuity. The Ultimate universe is sweet, but there's so much more to work with in 616. I want it to be freeroaming, but go back to the SM2 webslinging, cuz USM dumbed it down too much. And they need to come up with a great fighting mechanic, cuz USM did it best and that was just mediocre. Pete isn't helping much with his style that emulates a kungfu master on crack. I bet there's a way, but no one has found it yet. I just know conventional combos don't make sense, since Spider-Man is all about sticking and moving, so that his enemies have to guess where he'll be because he can move so fast. SM1 for the PS is my favorite Spider-Man game, because the story was simple yet great, the cast was unbelievably, the gameplay was fun, and the amount of content, whether it was a whole new mode in what if?, the cheats, or the extra costumes, was just insane. If they can take that, add the SM2 webslinging, and create a compelling combat system that stays true to Spidey, then I'll die happy. I like whoevers idea it was to base the story of Spidey's early years of comics. I think they should focus on the first three decades, so they can pick and choose from Dock Ock, GG, Venom, Carnage, Scorpion, Rhino, Sandman, The Beetle, Hammerhead, Hobgoblin, The Lizard, Juggernaut, The Spiderslayers, and have some awesome cameos from the X-men, FF, DD, The Punisher, and of course Black Cat.
