Homecoming Marvel & Sony's Spider-Man (2017) General Discussion - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Part 45

It's speculation on mine and Talion's part, based on the info from the Deadline article, as well as the one from Devin Faraci. It seems that Asa and Tom are still the frontrunners, while Rowe and Matt also left good impressions at the auditions (aka they're probably back-up).

Plus according to Faraci, Asa's reportedly been saying behind-the-scenes that he's already got the role, despite the fact that he just had to fly in for another audition against other actors. Faraci's guess is that someone from either Sony or Marvel told Asa that he was their guy and the other side doesn't exactly agree.

Okay, thanks. :yay:

theinfernoman, here are two more actors.

Zachary Gordon, because he's got comedic talent (from the Wimpy kid films) and sort of has the PP look

Max Records, I don't care if he's creepy, he's just a damn good actor.
When Wild Things had come out, I discussed the film with some friends and we said it maybe is the single best performance of a child actor that we have ever seen. (Kodi surpassed Max later on with The Road, but that's a different story).

Records was a terrible fit for the role, he actually got denied, lol.

Clearly that doesn't matter since the gingerbread man made it to the top 5.

I think the 14-16 year olds we're brought in just to see if they could miraculously find some young teen prodigy, but from the looks of it, they couldn't find that kid (Unless Lintz) and are looking to play it safe with a slightly older actor.

I think it's probably something like that.

It's like when you buy a dress. You pick out three dresses that are pretty standard. Like, nice solid designs that you know will probably look flattering on you. But you also grab a dress or two with a lot of frills or a crazy color or something wild because you never know--it might look amazing. You probably aren't going to buy it. You know that when you take it off the rack. But it might be a surprise and just blow you away.

Gordon gives me Drake Bell vibes :csad:

I can't wait for this actor to be announced just so all this crap will end. The haters will hate and the masters will bate. Lolz.

I believe he was rather denied from trying out.
Which is very questionable when you see the small kids Marvel/Sony had interest in.

Clearly that doesn't matter since the gingerbread man made it to the top 5.
Who is Gingerbread Man?
Plummer?

Gordon gives me Drake Bell vibes :csad:
Well, atleast he's still a teen.

Max Records would make Spider-Man into a hard-R horror movie

Old ****ing photo of him.
Show me a recent photo of him harryoscop since you're the expert. Show me he's not a freckled ginger baby face that looks 13. Dying to see his drastic appearance changes.

Ta-da.

:hehe:

if Asa's blabbing like that, shouldn't that be held against him, like Plummer tweeting? :cwink:

Potentially. However from what it sounds like, Asa's reported behavior is a bit more extreme/egotistical than Plummer's tweets. Plummer's only real misstep there was his confirmation on the THR article being true. In comparison, Asa's apparently saying that he's got the role in the bag. Either he's telling the truth and is pretty horrible at keeping a secret or he's been misinformed and is letting it get to his head.

anyways, if that is indeed the case, it would be interesting to hear the behind the scenes negotiations.

hopefully, the side that doesn't want Asa will win it! :woot:

Indeed. Talion and I think Marvel wants Tom; he seems more likely to be in line with what Kevin Feige has said he wants for Spidey, plus he's more of an unknown which is another thing Marvel loves in their castings.

He'll still be in the "girls are icky!" stage, and yell at her to go away.

:oldrazz:

When he opens the door and see's MJ, he'll yell "I don't still need a baby sitter Aunt May!!! :cmad: " :o

Lmfao! :lmao:

Deuces! As in see you never as Peter Parker. :hehe:

I'm disappointed in you harryoscop for wanting this kid as Peter. Then again I'm not surprised since you have no consistency whatsoever, especially with your fan casting. :whatever:

Only seven more names to go. :cwink::oldrazz:

Just let him have his fun since O'Brien's not getting it. :o
I'm okay with him not getting the role as long as the other actor looks like Peter and can pull off the comedy of Spidey. I'm still going to root for him until someone else is cast though, no shame in that.

I'm surprised the young kids made it to the final list, too.

but as I said in an earlier post, it almost feels like Marvel/Sony are "trying out" 3 different versions of Peter to see which would fit best with what they want.

a very young, "smaller" Peter with Lintz, Judah, and Plummer.
Strange that they didn't consider Daniel Huttlestone for that version. Is he seen too much as the musical boy?

Similar to how Batman Begins used some horror elements? :yay:
