Point is, that mask proves that Spidey doesn't have to look like the Airheads mascot.

I'm sure the Vigilante suit would look awesome with lenses and web pattern.

Where are these people? 'cause I've mostly seen complaints against faceshells in the costume thread. And I don't think the GA care either way.

Lol, forgot about last year. They probably skipped out because they released an Avengers trailer about two weeks before the game. I still think they'll probably participate this year.

I have a strong feeling that faceshells will return again. There's no doubt they give the Spider-Man head that structure and shape that makes the character look so distinguishable. As Johnny-Oh said, it will definitely give it that "movie look".

Plus, I never knew about faceshells until way after the Raimi trilogy was over. I was really amazed at them but quickly understood why they needed to do it. I'm sure the GA won't know about faceshells either, only really the fans that look into this stuff, so to the GA it won't matter. If anything, having no faceshell may make the mask look too silly and draw too much attention to itself, causing everyone in the GA to realise that previous movies used faceshells.

Thus, my point is, faceshells will definitely return as long as they are inconspicuous, and by that I mean less 'bobble-head' like, as we saw in TASM2.

Faceshells are also a big reason why the filmmakers feel the need to remove the mask in climactic/emotional moments of the film, because there is little facial definition and a lack of expressiveness/personality. Take a look at those cheap simple spandex Spidey Halloween masks, say what you will but they can definitely express personality.

I won't lose sleep either way though.

He'll have one. It prevents features like ears and lips poking awkwardly out of the mask, and also gives Spidey's face a similar shape to how it's drawn in the comics.
