I'm sure they had their reasons, maybe an upcoming movie, maybe they've seen how many liberties Capcom has taken with Marvel over the years regarding its characters.

You mean he's better now than in the previous fighting games?
Not to me.
Before, he felt faster and easier to combo with and had better melee attacks, or maybe the transition between them was faster or easier to pull off, now some of his attacks are hard to connect, like the web-swing, from what I remember.

I didn't play with him as much as I did in the previous entries. Just not as fun.

his normals were never that good, its a weakness that has carried over for awhile

Spidey is better in this game because he has far more high/low mixup potential, far more combo potential than ever before and movement with zip line and his maximum spider locks in for full dmg.

which version of web swing are you doing? you want to use L or M web swing....which is AMAZING because it must be blocked high...on block or hit you can continue a string (or combo) land than combo some more. he is crazy good with combos

but yes he has weaknesses. Low life, short limbs, and requires a pretty high execution level to use effectively. He isnt bad in this game, he is really good but other character require less skill and are preferred by players than spidey.

I don't remember if it was L or M. Maybe both, it has been quite some time since I played with him, but I felt way more confortable with the old Spidey.
Not saying he is bad, just that the previous version was better. I used to win more opponents with that Spidey due to his speed and melee attacks, not to mention his web trap, which lasted longer.

another thing on why he isnt played so much is that Magneto/wolverine are just much better rushdown characters overall

hmm also foound something kind of sad. UMvC3 spidey is seeing some NERFS

Spidey doesn't give enough reason for me to play him. You do so much work, and for what? To have Ultimate Web Throw around if you play a Phoenix team? Assuming he's not KOed, still has X-Factor, and you time it right. I'd rather use someone that doesn't need an assist to extend combos and is just as mobile (if not more).

Magneto just does it all better. One combo= death since get can drag you to the corner from mid screen into the magneto grav infinite into a DHC glitch

You'd have to really love spidey to play with him. Other characters can do it all better

OK after watching these two vids I must say that I've completely changed my mind about Dr. Strange. He looks EXTREMELY cool!! The character trailer didn't do him justice at all! He'll definitely be my main if I manage to use him correctly.

The green blood is definitely allowing them to get away with Nemesis I'd say. I think his blood was red in Resident Evil 3.

Strange's masked costume is the one he wore when he was in the Defenders, if I remember right.

Red when you hurt him, purple when you dropped him (temporarily).

I'm still disappointed that my girls Psylocke and Ibuki didn't make it in.......

But I can see myself using a team of Strange, Magneto, and Storm with Dante as a substitute.......
