Marvel's April 2007 Preview Solicits

Or alternatively the heroes were all working well together before the act, then it got introduced and divided them. This meant we couldn't react quickly enough when a crisis occured. If it ain't broke don't fix it/ :o

The superhero community has always been divided.

**** the principle. Fact is Marvel loses either way. They give you the damn ongoing, sales suck ass, they cancel it, you get all pissed and start petitions again. They give you guaranteed 5 issues, with the possibility of more if sales warrant it, you ***** anyway. Get over it. Buy your damn comic book, and if sales are good, it will be expanded. For God's sake.

My my, apparently you can't hold your temper. Also how do you know the sales would suck? Majority on newsarama and various others boards are annoyed with the change for no explanation. No they guranteed an on-going, which would pay major respect to Alpha Flight and then we got a 5 issue mini, which was revealed in a solicit. So apparently you never been upset about the treatement of your favorite characters? Wow thanks champ, did anywhere say I wasn't going to buy it? but if it sells well then we will have to wait another 6-8 months before we see anything else.

The majority on Newsarama and various other boards love She-Hulk, loved The Thing etc, they still sell poorly, or sold. I didnt say sales would suck, that was a possible scenario. For ****'s sake, make the first issue #1 and theyll make more issues its simple math. Fact is, the Omega Flight roster is filled with B-Listers, Marvel realizes this and now decided to send out the fiurst 5 issues and test the waters, if the first 2 issues sell well, I'm sure theyll get Oeming writing more scripts right away.

The superhero community has always been divided.
Hardly. The only real division was between the Avengers and the X-Men, who, for the longest time operated in different types of worlds, but they always stuck together no matter what.

Actually their biggest problem is people would wait for trades, and if they told us earlier that this was going to be a mini then it would be different. They knew for 3-4 weeks, but decided not to tell anyone until the solicts came out. Now is that fair to those who were excited about this? Who cares if their b-listers? you can't have a good comic unless it's A-class characters? hardly logical.

Are you being dense on purpose? If they told you 3-4 weeks ago, your reaction would be the same, it wouldn't have made a difference. And considering its comes out 3 months from now, I still dont see the big deal with the timing. Is it fair to those that are excited to have to cancel the series by issue #3 due to poor sales? No. At least this way you get a guanranteed 5 issues. Whats so hard to understand about this? Really? And if the issues sell well, they'll make more. Look at Nextwave, that started out as a mini, was made an ongoing, then back to mini due to low sales. Is that what you want? To be pulled back and forth?

And you're idiotic assumption that somehow I said a comic can't be good without A-Listers is laughable. of course it can be a good comic, but what matters is if its a good selling comic. Thats logical my friend. Think for a second.

Different in what way? That you would be complaining 3-4 weeks back? Look, much as we don't like to hear it, the people in the different boards are a minority from the buying public; we don't make that much of a difference. Personally, I've never cared much for Alpha Flight and the lineup for Omega doesn't pick my interest either. We should get the New Warrior fans complaining too since the only locked down character was Speedball and we all know how that ended.;)

I still don't get why bill is on the team, everyone else has a reason but bill just doesn't make any sense :(

Yeah, HorseyThor should get some lovin' too!!:o

You have no grasp on society if you think dozens of beings all have the same thoughts and general views. Different superheros, just like regular humans, have different methods of doing things. Some like punisher kill their enemies without question, and some like spider-man do not. Some heroes like Doc samon believe Hulk can be helped, and others like Tony stark believe Hulk is a lost cause. Civil War only proved how diffferent alot of superheros are, as they wage war with each other with litte regard at times. All this anmosity and hatred could not have begun during civil war, no it was something that was building since 1961. Superheros in the Marvel U have always been divided, civil war just took that natural division and brought it to the extreme. Even after black goliath was murdered in cold blood, they still fight, and why is that, because superheros[ and people in general] have never trully been united. Not the mutant race, not even the inhumans at times, and damn sure not a bunch of super egos in tights.

I would be annoyed, but no it wouldn't as Oeming and Kolins both had an interview just last week explaining their big plans and how Kolins feels he wants to make this run longer than his run on Flash. My my my apparently you can't have a civil debate without name calling? Immature. Where did I say anything about timing? I said principle, they could have told us earlier as oeming and crew knew for 3-4 weeks. Once again your assuming it would be poor sales, and what series would be cancelled just a three issues? Even the god-awful Alpha Flight vol.3 lasted 12 issues. No I want to be treated with some dignity as I mentioned earlier as AF was killed off-panel and never mentioned for months afterwards till the big reveal about Omega Flight. They already got our hopes up and then took it down again. The correct thing would have been to explain the situation before the solicit was released. It's a sign of respect to the fans, even Oeming was upset that this happened.

Right and a good written book will eventually sell well, simple marketing. Young Avengers was at first being laughed at but when it was released it turned out to be an incredible read. They took the chance and it paid off, I will still be buying OF and I do hope it gets an on-going, but by far Marvel could have handled it better.

No we wouldn't have gotten out hopes up as Oeming and Kolins just had an interview just last week saying it was still a on-going and that they were planning for a long-haul. It basically was ignored, for whatever reason. Oeming stated he is going to make an address today about why the change

And you clearly don't read many comics :o

Every major threat to face the marvel universe has seen the heroes put aside their differences and work together.

Seriously, leave this discussion, all you're doing at the moment is proving that the american school system leaves a lot to be desired :whatever:

Dude, you're getting 5 issues. 5. Stop ****ing complaining. Its simple math, sales good=more issues, sales bad=no more issues. Simple business practice. Gte over this whole principle thing and dignity rant. You'll never get those 3-4 weeks of *****ing you want, so just stop. Wow.

Im just jokingly discussing a topic your just being an idiot.

I'm not complaining about actually getting the issues, I'm complaing how Marvel revealed the change. Oooook..and yet I already made that comment, we don't how how it would sell. You really can't have any sensable debate can you? your the one cursing and yet apparently the guy who is constantly complaining is the calm one? hmm...

You clearly don't know me well enough. Again, you're not getting your extra 3-4 weeks of *****ing, because thats what you really want. Marvel is handling it well, what would not be handling it well is telling you it was a mini the day it came out. You have 3 months worth of *****ing, you dont need 4 more weelks.

Joke's tend to have some inate humour

I understand you feel tough on a computer, and i get that man. I was not even adressing you in my post, but you felt the need to be an idiot and reply.

Yes it will, either by back issues or even trades. Word of mouth is the best form of marketing on these types of boards.

There are plenty of good written books that don't sell well. Fact. Your comment was completely wrong.

Yes, I want to ***** and complain :whatever:, you clearly don't know me well enough. No it's the principles tell us before hand, not through a solicit, and to do so is quite easy actually. Even a simple comment in Joe fridays would be enough, not a huge indepth article.

Funny this is, nobody on this forum can debate, hence, why I call it arguing instead of debate.

And two, good writing does NOT become good sales. The Thing is proof of that in the most recent of memory.

And three, Eros has half the equation, and you guys have the other half. Societies are divided on several fronts (teams as well in the superhero world) but ALWAYS end up on the same side (for the most part) in the end.
