I'm sure lots of people want that, but personally I would prefer something new.

whatever the new IP is, I hope it's another choice-driven RPG like ME and DA.

BioWare: Mass Effect 4 Powered by Frostbite Engine, Will Explore New Directions

Some new details have emerged about Mass Effect 4.
According Bioware’s newly-appointed studio director Yanick Roy, the upcoming sci-fi RPG sequel will be powered by EA's Frostbite engine and enhanced by systems built for Dragon Age 3.
Writing in a blog post on the official BioWare website, Roy said that the game’s development will be “driven” by the studio behind Mass Effect 3’s multiplayer. BioWare Edmonton will lend support.
"This is the goal we have been working toward for years now, and every member of our team is proud, excited, and humbled to take on the responsibility for the next game," said Roy.
"To ensure a proper and effective transition, we'll continue to be supported by the Edmonton studio through the game's development, working with and learning from them on some critical initiatives.”
"On top of that, Casey [Hudson] remains the Executive Producer, but he will have a Project Director under him, working in Montreal, leading our development team and making day-to-day decisions for the game.
“We all care very much about Mass Effect and make our decisions based on what's best for the game," but will be "exploring new directions" in terms of gameplay and story.
"You can still expect the pillars the franchise is known for to be fully intact though, including diverse alien races, a huge galaxy to explore, and of course rich, cinematic storytelling," he added.
"There is really not much I can tell you about the game right now, except that it will be built with the amazing technology of Frostbite as its foundation, enhanced by many of the systems that the Dragon Age III team has already spent a lot of time building."
Last we heard BioWare said, "There will be no more Shepard, and the trilogy is over.”

so with the trilogy set, is there anything extra included vs just getting the games separately?

Exploring new directions in gameplay? Hopefully that doesn't mean they're making it a regular shooter.

Q:'You can still expect the pillars the franchise is known for to be fully intact though'. Does that include making choices?

A: absolutely! This is a key component of what a Mass Effect game is.

Q:Felicitations Yanick, for me ME is in good hands, but what about romances and friendship evolution, can we expect that too ?

A: Thanks! I think relationships are a very important aspect of an ME game and I expect this to be true in the next game too :-)

As long as they keep the dialogue and choice systems in addition to the squad mechanics and leveling up I'm all for them tinkering with the formula. Those are the things that I view as must have's.

The dialogues, choices, squad & relationships with the characters must stay. Besides that they can try to freshen up the gameplay. I really think an LA Noire style game will come. Kasumi's loyalty mission, the Shadow Broker & Leviathan all had detective like segments in them, a full-on detective game seems very likely.

I like that idea a lot.
seeing that's what you wanted as a spin off of this series I kinda see why. Lots can be done in this universe to expand up on it's just a matter how far they will take that and run with those idea's story & theme wise.

lol well I already have the game with out "cod black ops 2" and I don't feel like getting that other wise. Have fun any one else that does it's just not the version of black ops I'm interested in. Hopefully rock stars agent delivers that for me or another game in the vein of alpha protocol only done way better. with some co-op team play. and gadgets. with different ways to approach a and solve a situation.

I'm just tired of that kind of a deal. soldiers and merc's every where all the time. Unless there's a special hook to it like the ME series has had, I'm not that interested any more.

That sounds really good. I hope they even improve a lot on the dialogue/choices and your relationships.

I don't really need any huge gameplay style changes although if they improve things, all good. If they keep the format exactly the same while improving all individual aspects by x% I'll be more than happy. Can't wait for a next gen Mass Effect as this game already looks a lot better than most.

Bioware's offering free copies of the trilogy to the first 50 players who post that they got ME2 with Call of Duty by accident.

BioWare responds to Black Ops 2 mix-up with Mass Effect Trilogy giveaway

In response to reports of some PC copies of Black Ops 2 having a second disc for Mass Effect 2, Bioware is giving away Mass Effect Trilogy to those affected. As detailed on its blog, the Mass Effect developer will send free PC codes for the compendium to the first 50 people to send the developer a photo of the error.

It's a cheeky yet inspired response from BioWare, the developer calling the mix-up an "omen" it had to take heed of. "If the universe thinks that you should be playing Mass Effect right now," the post reads, "who are we to argue?"

Meanwhile, an Activision rep addressed complaints on the official Black Ops 2 forum, saying teams are trying to work out how the mix-up occurred. The post recommends using a product key provided in the case to activate the game on Steam.

Have you guys seen this? Very awesome indeed.

Hmm, seems like I don't know how to get it to work.

so...basically... go buy black ops 2.. hope there is no issue.... then take a picture of you ME2 disc with BO2 and get a free trilogy :woot:

I have an idea for the next game what about Playing as Jack Harper and follow how he became the Illusive Man and how he build Cerberus as We know it

that sounds cool.... even if you don't actually play as Jack, that story would be good.

if we are not playing as Jack maybe we can play one of his first recruits some one has had a significant role in building Cerberus :wow:

That sounds quite interesting. I'd imagine him starting out as a good guy before the realities of the job & what is deemed necessary in certain situations becomes evident.
