So Mass Effect Invasion ended.

[BLACKOUT] Cerberus ends up taking over Omega and forcing Aria into exile. [/BLACKOUT]

Wow, did I take too long to pre-order this thing.

February kinda snuck up on me, and finding a place to pre-order The N7 CE for the 360 was kind of a chore. Every gamestop I could find was no longer taking pre-orders for the CE on 360, nor online, or on Amazon.com either. I even went to two Best Buy stores to pre-order in person, and they wound up telling me my CE copy would not be guaranteed because the stores were taking more pre-orders than they would have on stock.

But, I was told that pre-ordering it online through Best Buy.com would guarantee me a copy. I went with the ship-to-store option, and I think I'm solid now.

Far as I know, I think Bestbuy.com and Walmart.com are the only places to pre-order the N7 Edition for the Xbox 360 at the moment.

yea I was able to preorder my CE on amazon right before they started disappearing. deff glad I did

oh I was asked a question. Well Matt here covered it.
It would be an interesting concept. Especially when you consider the race of Shepard's descendant. If you upload data, it should reflect who Shepard's romantic relationship was with. For example, if Shepard was with Ashley or Miranda, the descendant would be human. If he were with Jack, his descendant would be pure human, but have strong biotic powers. But the real differences come in if Shepard romanced an alien. If Shepard was with Tali, the descendant could have some Quarian traits. If FemShepard was with Garrus, some Turian traits. It could actually create some cool nuances.
I'd just find it interesting to have some one of shepards blood line/ Lineage (whether they answer his last name or not) and play as them. If we are indeed going to have to keep our save for future games as KalEL and upsetSpidey were saying above me. So yes it is indeed an interesting concept.

And it'll set it apart from what they did with dragon age to keep things well in "original idea" setting .

As for the inter Species breeding thing that upset spidey brought up. I really want my shep to have mixed alien kids. but if you make it a hassle. well I'm not in to hassles. which might Explain why I didn't pic her as my love interest. I love that liara did a lot for my shep. but til they make it possible, with any alien race / of the one you pick ...

It's the future after all, there has to be some way to do that get around that issue. any ways liara's Asari kid will still have my Shepard's DNA, so it's not that big of an issue. You just can't choose the gender in your making a kid with her that's all. unfortunately

Good.

Every time Aria spoke I wanted to shove my phalanx pistol down her mouth and empty the clip.

No that's what I was saying - Asari children don't actually carry any DNA from the father species. Going by what a couple of Asari say on Illium its moreso that they just use interaction with another nervous system to randomize the mother's dna during the conception process.

That's not to say Shepard wouldn't have a legitimate claim to parenthood of course, just that genetically there is not a direct genetic correlation between Shep and any child that would be produced from an Asari coupling.

As for Turians/Quarians and humans - their DNA is fundamentally different in some way I forget from human DNA. They, after all cannot eat the same food and such. To be honest, I like the barriers between interspecies breeding - it was always a little weird how in Trek and a couple of other sci fi series how any species could mate with any other and produce healthy halfbreed offspring and its a little refreshing in the ME series how those differences mean something on the genetic level.

^I tried pre-ordering from Best Buy last night and they had just sold out online. Weird that you were able to get one...

Also, have you guys all seen this? They will be updating it every Friday.

So it sounds like that the galaxy will be telling Sheppard **** you you lying piece of ****. In that case why bother saving it ? I hope at the end there is a choice between. Save the galaxy. Or let it burn

I think shows like Babylon 5 showed there are aliens and humans that couldn't mate/ breed with each other and that was also in Gene Rondden berrys Andromeda or the character in those were just smart enoughto know things wont work. hmmmm star trek did have a few cases of that, but the thing was it was few and far in between. It also depended on the series and Ep you were watching. But that's never gonna stop both Kurk and Riker they were dead set on doing the james bond to every alien woman on every planet, in case of the possibility to leave off spring.

any ways if this is the case I made the right chose with who I hooked my shepard with.

If you let the galaxy burn, what's the point of even playing it? Just finish ME2 & then imagine Shepard did nothing for the rest of his life. :oldrazz:

Basically any offspring from an Asari is 100% Asari, its supposed to be something of a wives' tale that the offspring inherit characteristics from the father race but there are some lines in ME2 that make it sound like scientists have disproven that.

I was really speaking to the impossibility of there being any descendent from a pairing with Tali/Garrus or Thane.

Impossible? I didn't know that. I wouldn't be shocked if BioWare went the descendant route (son/daughter/grandson/granddaughter) or Shepard that they would somehow "allow" inner species breeding.

Not saying they should.. or that they would... but I wouldn't entirely be shocked.

I think it'd be great. That could be very interesting. It'd be interesting to see if you wound up with any siblings, if you're Shepard was the promiscuous type and wound up with different romances too.

That'd be a cool of way still making these saves from all the games matter in future titles. I love the idea.

I do actually see "Son/Daughter of Shepard" or at the very least, descendant of Shepard being very possible.

I hate bringing more spoiler to this thread (as many people are already very careful about visiting this thread), but I thought that maybe someone would like to know this. An image of Jack from the upcoming artbook has just showed up and the description reveals what her role in ME3 will be.

You have been warned

Makes sense. Get one of the most powerful biotics to teach at a biotic academy. I fear for the children though.

Grissom Academy isn't a normal school, it's a school for exceptionally gifted biotics.

Also, I wasn't even aware that was a spoiler. I thought that information about Jack has been out for a while now.

[BLACKOUT]I've to admit that I'm not sure what to think of her occupation, but I'm interested to find out how she got the job. [/BLACKOUT]

I don't mind reading that one as Jack is dead in my save file and I am happy to keep it that way. Never cared for her as a character. Jacob is dead as well. The generic, biotic/soldier hybrid is my Mass Effect redshirt (I killed Kaiden, Jacob and will probably kill Vega :funny:).

I may decide to play through once more in the next month in order to kill off Zaeed as well. He was fairly boring (just didn't do much), I doubt his role in ME3 will be huge and him going out as a soldier in one final, glorious battle seems appropriate. Maybe I'll fail his loyalty mission so he dies when holding off the Collectors as I fight the Human Reaper? That seems like a fitting death for him.

I let Jacob go through the vents (all for the purpose of killing him) as he volunteered. I wanted some casualties. It felt strange to have a suicide mission where everyone survives. So yeah, I think I'll replay and kill off Jack, Jacob and Zaeed this time.

I don't understand how anyone wouldn't like Jack. She's like the second best written character next to Mordin.
