Meh, the bad girl who says **** everyone but really just needs a big strong man to break through her boundaries and teach her to love and trust is cliche and has been done to death.

But... space.

I don't mind reading that one as Jack is dead in my save file and I am happy to keep it that way. Never cared for her as a character. I may decide to play through once more in the next month in order to kill off Zaeed as well. He was fairly boring (just didn't do much), I doubt his role in ME3 will be huge and him going out as a soldier in one final, glorious battle seems appropriate.

Initially, I was certain that I wouldn't like Jack but after playing the game, she really grew on me and quickly became one of my favorite characters in the ME series. However, I do agree with you on Jacob. He is as boring as Kaidan (R.I.P :p) and I got really tired of him constantly saluting me.

The vast majority of stuff in Mass Effect are cliches that have been done to death though. :/

Yeah, I guess my first impression of her just never changed. After her loyalty mission, she just becomes the scared little damsel in distress who says **** and needs Shepard to save her from her demons and teach her to love. Boring. So I killed her. :funny:

Zaeed is great to have around if you are a Renegade.

Yeah? Maybe I'll do pure renegade. But Zaeed talks about how this is his last job before retirement. If movies have taught me anything, he has to die. :funny:

Maybe, but Jack's is a particularly annoying one.

I would of liked Jack, but i couldn't get over the shaved head. Loved her outfit, but wasn't feeling the dome.

In my "official" play through, she was the only one to die.

On a side note, is there any place in game we can see what decisions we made. I really can't remember what i did with the collector base.

It will probably show you when you import into Mass Effect 3.

I liked having everyone live through the Suicide Mission in my playthrough (and not just because of the achievement), for the same reason I'm playing a Paragon Shepard: it's a really, really ****** galaxy out there, so there needs to be one beacon of hope there. Making Shepard a super version of that appeals to me.

I can understand the other viewpoint, though.

I just read the achievement list and I love how they did the multiplayer achievements. Very very well done.

so I'm forcing myself to play through ME1 to prepare myself for ME2 and ME3.

assuming I put the difficulty level to Easy, and just want to play through to get the most important plot points, how many hours do you think it would take to complete the whole thing?

No time at all. If you only play the story missions, I'm guessing it would take around six to ten hours. Probably less if you skipped the cutscenes and dialogue, but I don't know why anyone would want to do that.

I played only the story missions and I seriously fell asleep twice. Mass Effect 1, IMHO is NOT a fun game anymore and it is a chores (no other words to describe it) and it took me 10 hours.. I did the small story line side quests (Conrad, the undercover cop that buys you a drink on two, Harkins, etcetera) to finish everything up nicely enough for my import anyway.

If you've played ME1 as much as I have... Skipping the cut scenes, etc, is totally understandable.

I meant for a first time player.

And I agree, the first game hasn't aged especially well.

Ah, for a first time player then yeah.. The game should still be fun and you should want to explore it.

I think the first game has aged fine. On my big playthrough last year I was loving it all over again.

Then I proceeded to Mass Effect 2 and forgot all about it :p though I do miss the grainy, pulpy style of the first game.

thanks. I'll factor in about a 10 hour playthrough time.

I'm just trying to do a speed run through ME1 so that I can import a completed save to ME2.

I take it that the major decision points are the ones outlined in that Interactive Comic for ME2 ( spare the Rachni Queen, the Virmire survivor, etc. ). Correct?

Also, if I wanted to do a few side missions, what would be the most important ones?

I would think the ones related to your profile/history are semi-important, yes?

I've just met Conrad Verner ( and signed an autograph for him ). Does he show up again?

And, I've talked to that reporter lady asking me to investigate corruption in the Citadel. Is that side quest important enough to finish?

Conrad Vernor does return.

I think the Cerberus side missions are probably worth doing.

^ thanks.

Cerberus shows up in ME1?
their mostly the ones youfind are behind most of the conspiracies in 1.

Nice find with jack pepper, I'll just throw her vega's way.
