Mass Effect 3

You seem to be under the impression that people want the ending scrapped, which isn't the case. Most of the people calling for change just want more closure and maybe a fourth option.

I dont think there needs to be any more options, just add on to what we were given, if anything.

I agree. I mean i didn't hate Vega, i enjoyed Freddie Prinze Jr's performance, i just think at this point in the series they didn't have to bring in a new squad mate for that role. Like you said, Grunt could of easily filled in there.

I personally feel like they tried too hard with the character. Everything he did felt like Bioware trying desperately to endear him to the audience and make him seem great. "Look at me, I punched Shepard, I'm so tough!" "Look at me! I crashed a shuttle, I'm so hard!" "Look at me, I'm hustling Batarians at poker! I'm so bad ass!" It was just like....quit trying. :funny:

Hahaha. Good points.

Not to compare Mass Effect to Harry Potter, but J.K. Rowling made the very smart decision to not introduce any new characters in the final book. She expanded the roles of some smaller ones, but there weren't any new ones. That was clever. By the time you reach the climax....you are looking for closure, not new characters that you are forced to get to know and develop with everything else going on. It's smart writing. Bioware should've taken a page from her book and left Vega on the cutting room floor.

Pretty much sums up Vega

Even though I did find him useful during gameplay, he's been replaced with Javik.

Hell, just look at the comic in which they introduce him. He rips a TV out of the wall and fights a bunch of Batarians in a bar for no apparent reason. It is just lame writing. I haven't seen the ending yet, but Vega is probably my biggest gripe with the game so far.

I've warmed up to Vega. He's best at the comedy bits, where he and Garrius are competing for best wise ass on the Normandy, and his comments from across the room when talking to Esteban. But, I would have traded him for pretty much anyone from before. Except Kaiden and Jacob.

My thing with Miranda is that her entire appearance in the game seems like a setup to something, that I don't think is in the game. I haven't beaten it, but it just looks like her role will be larger than the cameos I've had with her at this point.

Steroids.

That's the only excuse I could think of why he went nuts like that.

Oh i definitely agree with that.

Altho im not sure who could of replaced Vega. I mean i loved every other squad members cameo so much that i wouldn't want to of taken them away from that. I mean you mentioned Grunt, but i loved his appearence in this game.

There is a pretty huge payoff with the Miranda subplot.

Yeah, Grunt's mission is pure badassery. But it would've been even better if he joins you afterward.

I personally did not feel shafted by Grunt's appearance like a few others. I know some feel that it wasn't enough, I don't. Grunt wasn't that important in ME2. He was cool, but it's not like he is a major character who needed a huge role. But at the same time, there was room for more development and I would've much rather seen Grunt get it than Vega.

Yea i can agree with that. The thing with Vega was the feeling of "eh i can take him or leave him" and for a trilogy ending title, i dont think i should of felt that way towards what seemed to be an important character.

Pretty surprised when I found out Kai Leng could end up killing [BLACKOUT] Thane/Kirahee AND Miranda [/BLACKOUT]

Keep playing when it comes to Miranda

Does Kirahee have Thane's role in the game if his father dies in ME2?

He ends up decloaking in front of Kai Leng's blade and taking the hit for the Salarian Councilor.

That must feel fairly random. Do you bump into him earlier or is he just....there?

the highest upgrade for weapons is 5 correct? Im really wanting my Window anti-material again. i got the geth pulse rifle, but its not as strong as ME2...whats the best AR you guys have used?

Yeah, I can't see why anyone would kill him. He's one of the cooler ME2 characters. :funny:

haha im loving all these little EDI jokes... she just said something about unleashing her wrath and pretended to not know the ship intercom was on

Haha, EDI and Joker's dialogue is inspired.

The mattock got me through the game. Extended barrel, increased ammo capacity and armor-piercing ammo. The widow got me through the last parts though. :awesome:

You can get guns up to 10 in NG+.

I have a modded Revanent for crowd control and do most of my killing with an SMG.

SMGs are the best in multiplayer. lol they're practically weightless.

Anyways I read all the comics and novels before ME3 and,

I'm really disappointed we didn't get a quest to look into what happened with Executor Pallin. I'm also disappointed we didn't get a mission from Aria to take back Omega from Cerberus, even though the comic set up the idea that she would try to take it back years later. I hope they're released as DLC.

The Aria thing seemed like a clear set up for a Take Back Omega DLC.
