Mass Effect 3

I have Battlefield 3 on 360, and last time I checked, Origin isn't EA's way of selling games on the 360.

This also came up with DA2. In fact, all of EA's major games of late, outside of ME3, have had Project $10.
if I remember correctly that project 10$ was for those that hated the fact of being left out of what people would be getting other wise if they went with the collectors or some thing like the limited editions plus the extra products EA would ship with said products.

They just found a way to make it sound cheap and still get what they wanted out of people that they charge if they were buying something like the collectors of which I bought the latter the two.

It's cheaper in a way, yes. but their still getting what they want in the end.and to some trying to avoid paying more it's still amounts to the same thing in a way. depends on your view. I guess

Just went to the Bioware forums for ME3. Wow.

I didn't realize the ending for it has been almost unanimously despised. Even the big gaming sites are agreeing with them.

This is making me wonder if I should even play the series now because people say it's pointless to do so in light of the ending.

Where's your data that proves its a "HUGE majority"? You sure its not just a very vocal minority. Like damn near everything else thats b*****d about on the net?

This is the LOST series finale all over again.

I said a huge majority of their dedicated fanbase; I didn't say ZOMG EVERY PERSON WHO BOUGHT ME3!!!!1!! All you need to do is head on over to BWS, bro. Almost every single thread on there is about the ending.

That wasn't it at all. Project $10 was to try to take used game sales away from places like Gamestop by allowing gamers who bought the game new to download DLC. If you bought the game used, but wanted that DLC (or online aspects to the game), you would pay a $10 fee.

I wouldn't say its pointless. It is still my favorite franchise in gaming (and possibly all of Sci Fi). Its really fantastic.

which people who /that bought it "used" for various reasons, one of which was they didn't want to buy it day 1 or go for the thing's that would come with it if they had bought the more Expensive versions such as collector's or what would be in what they call limited editions now and days. But would still felt kinda left out of content. They didn't want them(fan's that chose that) to feel left out for that kinda a chose.

it's still getting what they want in way. it's just not over the top obvious.

I think what you are trying to say is that the Project $10 DLC was in Collectors and Limited Editions, when that isn't necessarily true. Lets go back to Zaeed. He was included in ALL new copies of the game. Every single new copy had him, regardless of if you bought the regular, collectors, limited, whatever edition. The "project" has nothing to do with that. It has everything to do with curbing used game sales.

ok I'm putting this up from Gameinformer. if it's been posted already my apologies

I demand Volus. They are biotic gods. Joking aside, playing as geth and batarian would be cool. I hope they will add more enemies later down the line such as mercenaries (Blue Suns, Eclipse & Blood Pack) and maybe even Collectors in addition to new maps.

actually no I'm sure he wasn't in the regular every where as I bought that for a buddy of mine when I was looking for the collectors for him as well and he hadn't bought the game yet. I couldn't get that for him and had to settle. I bought it regular for him, I got certain armors, but zaeed wasn't with that. for some reason, kinda the same deal with the inferno armor (for adepts) with some places where you'd buy the game. he did open the box in front of me with my other two friends during that time and we all went to his place for him to set up ME2. he had to buy zaeed on his own though.

I was watching GT over the weekend online or was it Xplay. might have been Reviews on the run even . Anyway they said something about making fortifications for horde mode would be a welcome addition. I don't disagree or agree. What do you all think about that? Would it make it too much like gears for you if they did it like that?

Yep, Bioware definitely caught a case of Peter Molyneux syndrome. That being said, it is still a tremendous game.

As for paying for it....clearly you are not familiar with how EA does business.

And if [blackout]Shepard died? Could you really see post game DLC without Shepard?[/blackout]

Could be addressed with cut scenes or some other data pack that's paired with DLC. It's going to be interesting seeing how Bioware proceeds from here.

Granted, they don't have to provide anything more post-game, but I think at this point they will. They created the ambiguity of the ending, and they honestly gave fans even more ammunition with whatever you want to call the "Perfect" ending with the destroy the Reapers decision.

Either way Bioware has really wrote themselves into a pickle here.

They're going to have a hard time selling pre-ending content to their fanbase. I know that what looks likely is taking back Omega I feel no excitement towards that and that is me loving Aria and Omega.

It will be very interesting to see how Bioware responds to any of this.

The Protheans (as a last ditch effort for future generations) altered the minds of the Keepers so they do not send out the signal again. That is why Soveirgn came....to activate the signal/relay because the Keepers couldn't do it again.

I too agree that this could have been expanded upon more. To me it felt like Master Mold logic. Organic life is chaotic and will always lead to their own destruction. We will therefore reboot the galaxy every 50,000 years for the sake of maintaining order and preventing another organic life to expand enough to destroy the universe.

I honestly thought...

That they were going to kinda go off in some direction where the Reapers were some sort of uber-zealots that had been occasionally culling the universe in search of "worthy" species, or something. Particularly after ME2 had so much focus on the Collectors' interest in Shepard and humans in general.

I dunno. Not an easy kind of story to spin, explaining why there are a bunch of giant machines that try to blow up the universe every now and again.

Who knows. Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't their Dragon Age "Witch Hunt" DLC honestly put together to placate angry fans? I do know they at the very least respond to their fans and do try to keep them happy-ish.

The Daleks are a mighty and fearsome race! :cmad:

:p
lol BTW I know who they are I'm like the doctor(possible 10) in that sense I like to tick them off. lol besides I bet I'm not the first to say their in walking(well rolling ) trash cans.

There really wasn't a big angry contingent as far as that went. It was just BW releasing content they knew the fanbase would go for.

I wouldn't mind if they add that. But honestly, MP is already good enough as it is (although it wouldn't hurt to add some new maps), so any additions would be icing on the cake.

Yes, you should absolutely play the series. The ending isn't very good, but bad or ending or not, these are still three of the very best games of this generation or any other. The ending isn't even bad, it's just disappointing and kind of a bummer.

Just turn the game off when you plug in the weapon to the thing at the end and you hear you did good and you should be okay

Yeah, I'd still recommend all 3 games. They're simply amazing, even with the less-than-awesome ending of ME3.

ok now I remember I did by that for him new and yeah he should have been able to have gotten zaeed with the Cerberus pass code. that was for free when you bought that new he was looking for the inferno armor and I got the two mixed up. My bad sorry.

I couldn't care less about [blackout]taking back Omega or Aria. Honestly, I doubt my Shepard would be all that keen to help a crime boss take control of a planet.[/blackout]

[blackout]The way I understand it is, they add on to themselves in each cycle. They allow civilizations to grow to what they consider to be their pinnacle (guiding the civilizations from afar through means such as the mass relays and the Citadel)....then they harvest them. They take their best qualities and put them into themselves, then let the cycle start again. They maintain order and grow through the cycle. I think the interest in Shepard was due to the fact that humans were such a new and unknown entity. They had watched and guided the growth of the Asari, Turians, Salarians, Quarians, Elcor, Volus, Batarians, etc. Then humans just popped up on the scene and not only did they do that....they defeated Sovereign...killed a Reaper. And Shepard was the best of them. So that piqued their interest. Thus the Collectors.[/blackout]

Finally got to start this. Just ran into Chobot. ugh.

Everything else is pretty cool tho.

That actually raises an interesting question...

The God Child/Thing/Whatever claimed they "harvested" species so that they could ascend, therein protecting organic life. Since it wouldn't grow to destroy itself.

So why in the hell did the Reapers leave all that fancy tech laying around that would just speed up the cycle? Was that ever explained?

I guess they're just an impatient bunch that didn't want to wait for societies to build things like Mass Relays on their own?

It meant that races would evolve along paths that the Reapers themselves designed, hence that they could more easily defeat the races of each cycle.
