Everyone got punked by the fake script...it was the basis of rumors for months and no one was immune! Drunk Martha Kent should have been real though!

Martha did look drunk when she laughed (kinda) when Bat was beating the crap out of everyone in the warehouse

Moving on the potential villains for a moment, I wouldn't mind if Reeves did a new version of Hush.

hush is my favorte batman book becuase it has like all the villains and bad guys like the jokester catswoman killer acrocadile poisioned ivies superman the riddle man also the new and mysterious villian hush but who can he be??????/

I don't understand people's obsession with Hush? The character is bland, and the story itself is stuffed. The best thing about the book, is Jim Lee's art. Other than that, I just don't get the appeal?
I like the design, as well as the basic concept of the character.

But as I said, if Reeves were to use him I'd prefer that he simply do a new take on the character and not an adaptation of the graphic novel.

I would be ok with Hush, but I feel like he better serves a Batman who has been around for awhile. Maybe establishing Tommy Elliot in the first movie and have him as the villain in the second movie?

I agree that Matt should be able to take the concept and do his own thing with it and not necessarily make it a 1:1 adaption if the novel.

Still think Riddler and Penguin would be a winning combo. Two villains that haven’t been in live action in over 20 years and are ripe for a more modern reimagining.

How they would interact with each other if at all is the question I guess.

Hush, Red Hood, Professor Pyg, and the Court of Owls are the only recent rogues that I believe are going to have staying power and eventually earn “classic” status.

And yeah I’m aware of the fact that Red Hood is more of an anti hero, but in his most famous storyline, he’s more of a villain.

Yeah I'd rather have Simon Hurt and the Black Glove.

Court of Owls sucks too. It’s just Morrison’s Black Hand stuff if fronted by Hush.
The Black Glove didn’t have a gimmick like the Court of Owls, and they don’t have the same visual appeal. Snyder’s story is a lot more accessible than Morrison’s too.

The Court of Owls storyline served as an introduction to Batman comics for a ton of new fans. That storyline kicked off the New 52. Snyder’s style paired with Capullo’s art reminds me a lot of the DCAU, I think that’s why I enjoyed that pairing so much.

Honestly, Court of Owls and Hush both serve as fantastic introductions to Batman comics, I think that’s why they have so many fans. They can be enjoyed by casual readers, and that’s fine. They may not be the most thought-provoking Batman stories, but they’re very accessible, well-paced stories that would be fine recommendations to new readers. I enjoy Grant Morrison but I wouldn’t recommend his Batman stories to a brand new Batman reader.

I dunno. With the Black Glove you can get an Eyes Wide Shut vibe goin'. A cult of Gotham elites running around in creepy masquerade masks.

And Simon Hurt is a devil worshiper, so you can throw religious horror in there as well.

This is what I want! You could have Penguin/Cobblepot trying to induct Bruce into the society and have Batman fighting the Court/black Glove or whatever so the Bruce Wayne persona equally involved as Batman.

The thing with Hush was that it was a hype machine that didn't have any payoff in the end. I'm not 100% sure on this, but I think that the original intent was to have Hush be Jason Todd. Unfortunately, people figured it out almost immediately so they decided to make the red herring (Tommy) actually be Hush in the end and just have a fake Jason Todd (Clayface) pop up in the middle of the story. Which was stupid, because they ended up just bringing Jason back in a much crappier way a year or two later.

Hush can use a reworked origin, he definitely looks up-to-snuff already for a cinematic debut. It's one of those things which has to be set up from the get-go though. Similar to how Thanos was slowly built within the MCU.

The best part of the hype machine was the mind games and mystery. In order for the reveal to work the audience has to go along with whatever surprise comes out of Hush's unveiling.

I'll never forgive Scott Snyder for tainting Morrison's work, specifically as regards to Barbatos, with that Dark Nights: Metal rubbish.

Hush has potential. You just need a good writer to flesh him out, as Dini did with his Heart of Hush storyline.

Do I even want to know what happened?

The Barbatos/Batman Who Laughs stuff is actually a pretty interesting concept. Execution wasn’t ideal though

But honestly I'd love to see a noirish detective film that also has a religious horror flavor to it. Doctor Hurt, Deacon Blackfire, Mr. Whisper, Azrael. Sign me up.

He basically turned Barbatos into more of a corporeal entity, your typical "big bad" so to speak. To me, that takes away from what he (or should I say it?) was initially meant to represent.
