What’s everyone thinking for villains. Both for the first film and the overall franchise if it continues into more films.

Entire rogues gallery in background. Court Of Owls overall antagonist.

I like them, but not enough to weigh down this chance at a fresh continuity by tying it to a prior iteration. Gordon and Alfred are not hard castings.
Right.

Wanted: Likeable, older character actors to play mentor-like roles.

Penguin and Riddler need to be done justice.

I like CMS's Nygma on Gotham but a great version needs to be done on film.

Mr. Freeze in Batman movie that takes place during the Christmas season is a must for me.

That film would be breathtaking.

A legit actual tragic take on Freeze like what was done in the animated series and the Arkham franchise would be wonderful to see on screen finally. Deserves redemption after Batman & Robin.

Yes. For the first time in YEARS.

We’re looking at a brand new Batman, unconnected to Snyder’s, in a Batman film that is going to be a noir detective thriller.

BATHYPE.
yes!! This is the best possible news we could have gotten. The hype train has begun

Riddler is due for revamp. Nolan covered Joker, Two Face and Catwoman, so I don't need another fix of those for a while.

Y'all sleeping on the true Bat villain

I'm convinced the general populace forgot Anne was even Catwoman, so I feel she's more than due for a return in a noir-driven iteration.

Sad to see Affleck go. Waiting for further news and pics to get hyped. Not feeling it yet. Which is weird, as I loved Reeves' films and Batman is my fav fictional character... period.
Young Batman... once again. Would have liked to see Afflecka's older, scarred Batman be further developed.
It's not likw they didn't successfully bring Momoa and Gadot back.
DuhI....

That would be fantastic! I could actually see that happening in of the sequels if not this one. If this is gonna be a trilogy, I think all 3 being noir driven would be brilliant.

RIP to Ben Affleck’s tenure as the Batman: 2013-2019.

He was a worthy successor to Bale, Keaton and of course the best of the best the Bat-tusi dancing Adam West.

We hardly knew ya’.

Onto to new beginnings!

I'm glad we can finally move on from this quagmire

...

And then bring Affleck back for Batman Beyond :D

I had to run in here after hearing the Batman news. I'm glad Affleck is gone! Hopefully they get a younger actor! Praise be!

I honestly believe that matt reeves will create the best batman movies by a mile. Everything he says is exactly what I want. I just want it to still have that comic bookyness.

Still have the fantasy (not nolan realistic) please! I want a universe where batman and his world can all exist (clayface, real bane, freeze, man bat, etc)

Nothing most of us didn’t already know, but at least now we can all agree that it’s been “confirmed.”

Personally I think batfleck has been the best batman and I adore bvs. With that said, its best to move on as I dont want reeves to be stuck in a corner with limitations and I also can now consider mos and bvs as a single story that is completely disconnected from everything else.

Reeves will create the new best batman movie though. I just hope he can match up to the action from bvs cause I know he will nail everything else.

I didn't necessarily hate Affleck's Batman but the audience generally rejected it. Time to move on.

I think there were some positive takeaways from his Batman, and I was averse to the idea at first. At the same time, I maintain that going for the older 20-year veteran version of Batman and a more extreme version of Frank Miller's Dark Knight Returns Batman was the WRONG choice.

I think you can play around with that in like a standalone Dark Knight Returns or a standalone one-off film, but not in the first film in a shared extended cinematic universe. That was the wrong choice.

just saw the news. I'm cautiously optimistic.

so it sounds like this will serve as a reboot for Batman?
