The "teaser" is a costume screen-test and literally didn't remind me of anything.

LOL, if a teaser is making you recall Punisher War Zone, then you know it's crap. Nothing in it looked good to me. Black Mask looks like some low-level mobster who hangs out in the back of a Jersey pizzeria and Zsasz is apparently his bumbling hit man. Canary looks like a lounge singer, maybe? Huntress looks like every generic action hero character played by Milla Jovavich or Kate Beckinsdale in the past 20 years. "Batgirl" looks... like she's not even going to suit up as Batgirl in this movie. If I were to guess, she probably picks up Harley's bat at some point and beats up a bunch of guys and then Harley gives her the nickname. Barbara Gordon looks like... oh, wait that's right. She's not in this movie because WB is AWESOME. Ugh.

Yeah. I hope not, but the aesthetic they're going for here... and the fact that this whole movie is going to be built around Harley Quinn in all likelihood... makes me think that's totally what will happen, lol.

I'm glae that neither Catwoman nor Barbara nor Poison Ivy are in this movie. Leave those to Reeves, it's a shame he cant use harleyin his trilogy because of BoP/SS

Yeah, good point. The way BOP is looking, I'm glad it's full of Batman characters I don't care all that much about. Shame to waste Mary Elizabeth Winstead though.

Didnt we already know Reeve's said he wanted his films to be out of the DCEU films and do it's own personal thing/view? Idk why you'll so worry about it

U clearly dont seem that pressed about the Spiderman inconsistencys stealling Miles arc for Peter and Aunt May knowing Peter's Spiderman but go off

Harley the way she is now is completely not needed in a Batman movie. Anti-hero, pfffft. Everyone else - I don't care much about them. Ivy, Barbara were spared. As well as Penguin. Lol, he was rumored as a villain for BoP for some time.

No he never said that. That hasnt stopped the "reboot the DCEU" crowd from pretending he did though. His film will be in the DCEU. They arent going to have 3 separate universes going. Since Reeve's wont be using the Phoenix Joker film as part of his story that is all you need to know.

This is really great. With hot topic villains of Suicide Squad, Power Rangers Aquadude swimming in the horizon and Metropolis across the bay... I'm loving it.

I never understood why people get so mad that Gotham (which has traditionally been in Jersey comics wise) is across the bay from Metropolis (an analogue for NY) especially when each city is big enough to keep its respective protetctor and their allies more than busy.

This new Batman movie will have Been Affleck as the older Batman then there will be flashbacks of a younger Batman with a different actor.

So that's how there will be multiple villains in this movie without it being over crowded.

So will Penguin be working with the Court of Owls for the older Batman and Hush and Catwoman will be seen with the younger Batman?

Posted this in the other thread but I find it odd that there has never been a direct quote from Matt reeves about Ben departing or not, always the author saying “he stayed mum, or hedged”

Did Matt just sit there and stare at them when asked? He obviously said something, but I’d be interested to see exactly what he said about it.

I'm really happy WB is giving Reeves all the tools to do what he wants .it's what made nolans trilogy a masterpiece, so I have a ton of confidence in Reeves.

It's very much a point of view-driven, noir Batman tale. It's told very squarely on his shoulders, and I hope it's going to be a story that will be thrilling but also emotional. It’s more Batman in his detective mode than we’ve seen in the films. The comics have a history of that. He’s supposed to be the world’s greatest detective, and that’s not necessarily been a part of what the movies have been. I’d love this to be one where when we go on that journey of tracking down the criminals and trying to solve a crime, it’s going to allow his character to have an arc so that he can go through a transformation… There will be a Rogues Gallery.

That is what we been waiting for. I appreciate everything Burton and Nolan did but we rarely see him do any major sleuthing.
