And now we move into the casting speculation in earnest. Fun times ahead, gang.

Pre-production and filming has always been my favorite stages as a fanboy. So much speculative discussion, and our imaginations going wild. I look forward to the boards ramping back up to the hype it used to.

I’m not interested in putting anyone from the last bat regime down because there’s been more than enough of that over the last 4-5 years, all I will say is that I hope they find a happy medium in terms of this new Batman and his surrounding world.

I expect a Robin. I expect a bat family. I expect this Batman to be Batman for more than a year. I expect the suit to be grey. I don’t expect a made for film love interest. I expect Batman.

Just read Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on Serious Earth recently, and that really makes me want a film set in Arkham with many villains! Know this probably won't happen, but it would be awesome to see that on the big screen one day.

I'm sad leaving Affleck behind as I loved him in BvS but if a new actor takes us to more stories with a possibility for longevity to the overall universe then so be it. Throwing Luke Evans in the ring for Bats.

This doesn’t sound likely, from the way Reeves is talking about this being a noir detective movie, with everything on Batman’s shoulders.

I meant expectations for his overall Batman franchise, not just what I expect from his first film.

He’s taking his sweet time so far, so I can only expect that this franchise is now going to take up the better part of his next decade as a film director.

No details have been revealed, including how old Bruce Wayne will be in the movie. Some believe Reeves wants someone younger, in their mid-20s, while others believe the studio wants someone a little older to play the part. Most insiders stress, however, that until the director begins meetings, no final decision will be made on that front.

It’s been fine for the last 30 years, but any director with that mindset going forward can just go take a hike. I’ve had my fill of Batman films by himself. Give me one with Robin done right.

Spider-Man has always been depicted as 16-17 and nobody has had a problem with that. Granted, he has "superpowers" but still. I wanna see a Robin too, but I think it'd best suited for the sequel

I like them, but not enough to weigh down this chance at a fresh continuity by tying it to a prior iteration. Gordon and Alfred are not hard castings.

I want the full kit and caboodle. With each passing movie, that cave better look like a god damn bat museum.

Part of me would love all of that too, but I’m really not getting a vibe from Reeves that his intentions lie with such levels of devotion to the comics. I feel like this is going to be a Batman movie that’s all about the characterisation, and about how the mystery he has to solve affects him. Not sure that kind of character study based story lends itself to the more outlandish comic-y elements... but we’ll see!

That's what bugs me, I don't want a grounded Nolan rehash. I want a comicbooky batman. I mean keep the noir vibe, but I want ComicBook stuff too.
