Finally, a third movie that sticks the landing. I think this is going to be THE movie of the summer.

This movie sounds like its going to be emotionally devastating though and I dont know if I'm ready to handle it. :(

It's up to 92% on RT! Now to read.

ETA: The most offensive thing I've read in a review so far is about how Reeves Let Me In was "superior" to Let The Right One In. So we're doing okay so far. :funny:

Dawn ended up with 90%.

IGN gave Baby Driver a 8.5 and WFTPOTA a 9.5. Jesus!

‘War for the Planet of the Apes’: It’s Time to Revamp the Special Achievement Oscar

And there was plenty of enthusiasm to go around. Reeves has crafted an epic and emotional study of grief and vengeance and the folly of man. It’s a truly remarkable tentpole film amid the frenetic summer fray, but it’s also yet another victory lap for the performance capture techniques Andy Serkis has been championing and defending as they’ve slowly but surely moved from industry-threatening boogeyman to wave of the future.

Which leaves the question: Is it time for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to dust off the defunct special achievement award and recognize Serkis’ efforts, along with those of the talented artisans behind the scenes who have helped bring his performances to life? It’s a good year to do it, particularly with Serkis’ directorial debut, “Breathe,” on the way later this year. But moreover, wouldn’t it be prudent to resuscitate the honor on an annual basis at a time when technology and ingenuity are changing the nature of cinema at a dizzying rate?

So pumped. After this and Batman, Reeves is gonna be one of the most sought out directors in Hollywood.

I can't wait. Rise is good, Dawn
is one of my favorites of the last 5 years and hopefully War will join it.

I couldn't get into these. Rise was ok, but never quite got into Dawn. I was... a bit bored with those films. Was even wondering why all the fuzz around those films.

However, Stuckmann gave it an A+ and Jahns called it "Awesometacular" and raved about it. This got me intrigued.

Maybe third time is the charm?

If you didn't like Dawn, my guess is you won't like War either. But maybe you'll be pleasantly surprised.

It seems the two negative reviews were because of bleakness and length. I can handle both so I'm not worried.

140 minutes or so.

Some reviews have major spoilers so beware.

Its average score is back up to 8 now been watching it all day and it was at a 7.9 for a while and it has had a lot of positive reviews in a row. Would be awesome if it could stay at a 8 average and also get a 90% or higher but it is hard to really know has scores can change a lot in till you get to around a 150 reviews.

Dawn is at a 90 with a average score of 7.9 what do you guys think are the chances that this movie could beat both or one of those? I think the 90 might be more realistic thing for this movie to beat.

Still 95% after 41 reviews.. So far, this has been a great year for movies, IMO. I am trying to remember a year when we had this many quality movies this early in a year and still have Baby Driver, Spider-man, Stars Wars, and Justice League, Blade Runner coming up.

Yeah...Justice League will suck bad. Can't put it in this list.

Still waiting for my perfect trilogy, and Apes is one film away. This could be the one!
