Matthew Vaughn in negotiations to direct Thor?

Yes i am saying do a modern Thor for 2, You still need to intro him from his own world first for people to understand who he is. You just can't say "oh BTW this guy Donald Blake is really a God in human form and doesn't know who he is." The general public would never buy that. But they would care more about him if you tell them WHO the Mighty Thor is in the first movie.

No, but you can have Blake find the hammer and we go on the journey of learning about Thor with him.

Ok you have a point there. I am just saying from my point of view a huge viking war with Thor leading the fight would be an awesome sceen in a movie.

Granted you could do this in a flashback, but it would just leaving you wanting more. So At the very least start the movie with the battle have the hammer lost then flash forward 400 years.

Kevin Feige already said Thor is going to take place in Asgard with only a mention of Earth. Maybe you'll see Don Blake for the sequel.

I rather see the whole movie take place in Asgard anyway, I don't want an ER meets Superman.

OK, so we get a whole Asgard Thor movie, but not a whole WWII Cap movie?

Feige sucks!

I think we will see a whole WWII movie for Cap. Have him save the world by straping himself to the missle and get frozen at the end of Cap1. then in Cap2 or The Avengers have him be found in modern times. IMO it would be better to have him found in Avengers that way it goes along with the comic better.

I don't like the missle idea. I had an outline for two movies as his full origin to today where Cap and the Skull both get frozen at the end, and reawaken today (the Skull being unfrozen years prior and forming a terrorist organization). In my movie, I had the German's build an air base (which SHIELD copies the designs of years later) in order to house jets to attack America, and they were fighting in a jet the Skull tried to escape in.

I hope they go whole movie WWII, because it enhances Cap's story.

Hmm. if this is true, since most directors tend to stick to using the same actors, it's possible we may find our Future Thor somewhere in the cast list here: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0486655/

EDIT: Ah, maybe this guy? http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1602660/ He's also apparently going to be in the next two Chronicles of Narnia movies, so he'll probably be make a fairly big name for himself just about the time Thor is set to roll out.

WHY IS BUTLER WANTED FOR EVERYTHING!!!

God, since 300, everyone wants him.

"Who should be Cap?" - Gerard Butler

"Who should be Two-Face?" - Gerard Butler

"Who should be Galactus?" - GERARD BUTLER!!!

Just throw the sentence "Who should be", then place an X or a line, and you can all fill in Butler. I know you all want to.

This is growing tiresome.

Sorry, end rant.

Because he's the flavour of the week. This happens whenever has just come from their big breakout performance.

Vaughn did bail out of X3, so if he does take the job with Thor, I'd hope he stays in the director's chair this time around.

He left b/c he realized Fox just wanted a shooter of the elements in place. He wanted to actually direct the film's production. I don't blame him for leaving X3.

I know he is the flavor of the week, but seriously, do we need him for everything? Let's make him Abraham Lincoln while we're at it, or Han Solo, or Mad Max.

Geez, it is growing tiresome.

Hi Ring Deacon! :)

Spider-Fan930 already answered your other point succintly enough.

But thats not the point. The point is, do we do a movie about Marvel's Thor which MUST be set on contemporary Earth. Or, do we waste the license and make some ambiguous viking 'filler' movie.

Granted you could do this in a flashback, but it would just leaving you wanting more. So At the very least start the movie with the battle have the hammer lost then flash forward 400 years.

Which is exactly what I did do in my Thor Movie Treatment. ;)

Hmm. That's actually a brilliant choice. Anybody know how good his American accent is?

Not sure. Maybe he could play a better Christopher Columbus. Oooh, or Ted Bundy. Man, could I see him as Peter Pan.

Howdy Still A Thor Fan! :)

Trust you've been keeping well mate?

This is the sort of ineptitude which leads to Galactus being cast as a [insert your own swear verb] cloud. :whatever:

Am I going to need to 'have words with thee!?'

Hey there odiin! :)

Work out, dye it, and height barely matters at all, All that is of any importance is just in the general terms "short, medium, or tall," and 6 feet is plenty tall.

Not saying he would necessarily, I was just looking through the cast list of Vaughn's latest movie for possible candidates and he caught my eye.

LOL

"I don't know, I swear"

"Dost thou sweareth to THY!"
Seeing Thor pretending to be drunk would be an Oscar-winning performance which none could ever hope to beat. :D I can already see a lamp-shade impaled on his helmet's horns/wings.

HELL YES :woot: That would be hysterical.

He needs to pass out on the side-walk, too. And has some thugs try to steal his hammer while he is out.

He bailed from that movie because he realized what an utter pile it would be....even though he helped write the freakin script(and killed cyclops). 6 months from page to screen for an X-Men movie is ridiculous...but Singer did it with the first one....and look how much better his second one was with more time and budget...oh well.

Verily old friend!

But just like our many friendly disagreements in the past I still stick to mine that I like to see a build up to the whole Donald Blake thing. It would be cool I think toward the end of the 1st movie you see Thor get banished to earth, and the 2nd film begins right where the first left off.

And man, imagine Thor vs Mangog or Ulik on the big screen. **** I can't wait for this movie to come out.

AND THE REST OF YOU STOP WITH THE CAPTAIN AMERICA NONSENSE, GO TO A CAP BOARD AND CRY ABOUT HIM THERE.
