Marvel Films MCU Phase IV!

I was gutted to find out about Thor 4 being delayed again. But at least its only by 2 months...

The delays to Strange and Thor hurt the most. But it is what it is.

I was always angry about delaying MCU projects. But since we get 4 movies and 5 series this year and probably at least 1 more series before MoM, I’m not so disappointed this time

Indy doesn't bother me

It's possible that with the new terms pending approval for the IATSE, that they may potentially be bracing themselves in case a strike does indeed happen.

Feige couldn’t keep 1 project on date besides What if and Hawkeye since those epic announcements at SDCC19, D23 2019 and Investors Day 2020. I don’t expect any more big announcements like that for years

To be fair to Feige, the world has been a massive **** show and you could say that for everyone else.

Very bad timing to announce these disappointing news. Today is the world premiere for Eternals and the past weekend was owned by DC.
But since Indiana Jones 5 was also mentioned, it’s probably the decision of Disney/Chapek

Isn't Disney having some sort of Disney presentation this year? At the very least, they could talk about stuff that's in development or production like Mandalorian Season 3 or Wakanda Forever, even though the latter was delayed. Better to rip off the band-aid now with announcing the delays, rather than wait until a big presentation where everyone's expecting good news.

Just realized, we’re back to 3 movie releases again in 2022.
Tbh I always had worries, that they’re able to handle 4 movies and 5-6 Disney plus projects a year

I am perfectly fine with 3 movies a year. I can deal with 4 but was not looking forward to them with the lack of spacing. The shows included now too, I didn't watch What If but I watched the rest. I can't imagine the shows and movies on a full workload which does not seem likely until 2023.

It does give them time to perfect CGI

Or edit for certain markets.

I'm calling it now, the July Marvel movies are going to be the ones Marvel gives up on the Chinese market. Since that date is likely what caused Black Widow to not get a release.

3 movies next year is fine.

Yeah, especially since in addition to three movies we’ll also be getting four shows next year(Moon Knight, She-Hulk, Secret Invasion, and Ms. Marvel). So basically seven total MCU projects next years which means Marvel fans certainly will be far from starved for MCU content come next year.

So they've given up on China for Thor?

Just when I thought boX office is starting to look great, here comes more delays; which I didn't eXpect. Well at least we are still getting Eternals neXt month.

I think

2021
Eternals
Spider-Man No Way Home

2022
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness
Thor Love and Thunder
Black Panther Wakanda Forever

2023
The Marvels
Guardians of the GalaXy
Ant-Man and the Wasp Quantumania
Fantastic Four

2024
Blade Begins
Captain America Sam Wilson
Deadpool Homecoming
Shang-Chi and the Rings Two

2025
Mutants
Avengers Legacy
E2: Eternals United
Doctor Strange Part III

Well this would eXtend the wait for the Mutants and Avengers. Too many ips and another set of delays.

Yet they removed the October 2023 placeholder. I wouldn't call that just a simple shifting. They had 5 MCU movies slated for 2023, and now its down to 4 (2 of those films are already filming).

I looked it up, its the third delay for Dr. Strange 2 and Thor 4. Second delay for Wakanda and Marvels. The only one that wasn't delayed today is GOTG 3, and we all know why it takes so long for that to start filming.

I reckon Fantastic 4 will be 2024. Partly because I think that year has a 4 in it (April 4 2024 would be perfect haha). But mostly because we know the movies coming in 2023 are just about to start filming, and as far as we know F4 isn't that far along yet. But if they announce the cast at D23, maybe it'll squeeze in for a very late 23 release.

The only movie is going to get the November 2024 slot from Fantastic 4, is either Blade or Deadpool (or perhaps Sam Wilson if that becomes ahead of the schedule). 2024 sounds fitting for the Fantastic 4 as imagine they would highlight the "4" of 2024. But I'd rather see it sooner than later.

The longer we get most of these movies, the longer will get their reXpective 2quel or 3quel. At least Gotg/Ant-Man/Spider-Man are about to complete their trilogy.
