Marvel Films MCU Phase IV!

Though, I think/hope the series will end with neither one taking up the mantle, personally, as Steve WAS the shield.
I see a lot of people say this. I don't necessarily disagree, but I don't mind either Sam or Bucky becoming Captain America. I would have preferred Bucky, but Sam is good too.

I also find it funny and sad that I've not seen many people feel the same way about Thor. Nobody ever says "Thor is the HAMMER". Evans really made a great impression on fans as Steve Rogers. Cap and Ironman will be very hard to recast unlike Thor.

The dude's name is literally Thor. "Hey, you can lift this hammer...now you have to change your name." Kind of dumb.

Captain America is a bit more of a symbol...but again...it doesnt feel right for someone to throw their own legacy away to wear Steve's clothes. It seems more "realistic" for a government to decide to replace Steve with a marketing gimmick/stooge...but the point of the story would be that STEVE was Captain America because he possessed the unique qualities that defined that role. Or just leave it be.

First, I didn’t bring up race, I responded to a poster who bought up the race of actors.
Second, I never said you needed my permission, but you got to be more careful about what you are posting about sensitive issues.
Third, I don’t report other posters over a disagreement, I don’t label other posters as trolls that I disagree with.

You brought it up to me. I suggest you be more careful about who you quote if you are really interested in minimizing misunderstandings. All of this stems from you either quoting the wrong person or sending out some troll like message.

Please show me ONE instance of where I was less than respectful when discussing race. One.....

I never "said" you were a troll or were trolling (though, TBH, I think you kind of are and, from others posts, I'm not the only one). I do think some of your posts either border on trolling or fit the description; be it intentional or not.

I hope love and thunder isn't Hemsworth's last mainline Thor movie. I wonder how long-term his new contract is. Is it just Thor 4,Guardians 3, Avengers 5?

Highly unlikely IMO. Even if it is, I feel quite confident we'll see a fully powered Thor in at least a few more movies. I, frankly, hope the send off will be for Jane. Maybe her character can be salvaged, but it's going to take some doing. The thing is Thor is on the definite upswing and I don't think you want to leave that on the table.

Of course I've been wrong before......once.....or maybe twice.....:cwink:

I see there are some people wondering what Jane becoming Thor means for the Thor franchise so let me spoil Mighty Thor for you: she dies of cancer. Of course since this is comic books we're talking about she gets resurrected almost immediately, but that doesn't have to happen in the movie.

And she doesn't have to die of cancer in the movie.....but I kinda hope she does....not cancer though....ughhhh.....

To continue on about more Thor stand alone movies.....there is so much potential material they can pull from, it would be a shame to not explore that.

Maybe they can have Jane continue and have Darcy as her sidekick......saaaaaaaaaaaaave meeeeeeeeeee.........

Oh, this has nothing to do with Evans for me - I feel this way about the comics too. There’s a reason no matter who takes up the mantle, it always comes back to Steve. He is Captain America just as Bruce Wayne is Batman and Clark Kent is Superman, and yes, Thor is Thor. I would not be down for Female Thor if I thought Thor was getting permanently replaced. I’m generally not a fan of legacy characters. Captain Marvel/Ms. Marvel and Wally West are rare examples of the concept that have worked for me, but usually they just feel like substitute teachers, filling in ‘til the real one comes back. Like, I LOVED Dick Grayson as Batman, just because I love him more than Bruce Wayne in general, but we all knew that **** was temporary.

You guys are tripping. Phase 4 looks great. I'm excited for everything we're getting. And I bet Feige has something great planned for us. I think this phase is going to be unpredictable.

Well its Marvel after all. With Fiege's track record i wouldnt be surprised if all the movies are good or great.

Im just not interested in Shang-Chi or Black Widow movie. Both are smart marketing moves but i dont care about that tbh.

Plus the "multiverse of madness" is a weird subtitle and "love and thunder" is cringe worthy.

First time im skeptical with the MCU.

They are embracing the weirdness of comics...not at all cringe worthy.

And what makes you think that Shang-Chi is just a marketing move? Maybe it has an awesome story to tell. Couldn't be any more basic than much of what has come before it...stuff you probably WERE excited about and didn't write off as a marketing move.

You cant have the weirdness of comic books translated to a different medium and hope it works.
It wont.

The medium is much much different.

Im not saying Shang-Chi is "just a marketing move" but that marketing plays a role.
You must cater to Chinese audience. The market is HUGE. Thats ok, i dont have a problem with that.

Im not interested in Shang-Chi cause he is unknown and 4th tier. Thats it.

Thor - Love and Thunder ??? Really ??? . Not excited at all. Thor peaked at Infinity War and going downhill since then for me. The subtitle made me cringe. Jane Foster as Thor doesnt make sense for me. I dont buy Natalie Portman as Thor. She is gonna be 40+ for her solo Thor movie when it comes. And if they dont plan on making one then whats the point of making her Thor in one movie ???

And what exactly is wrong with that?! Robert Downey Jr., Mark Ruffalo, Paul Rudd, Anthony Mackie, Don Cheadle, Chadwick Boseman, Dave Bautista, Benedict Cumberbatch, Paul Bettany and Chris Pratt are all 40+ playing superheroes but it's a problem that Natalie Portman (who is actually only 38) could be playing Lady Thor at 40+

:whatever::whatever::whatever::whatever::whatever:

Maybe it will. Marvel is going full on comic book, Jack Kirby etc weirdness...and comic fans are complaining? Marvel thinks the world is ready for it.

You don't care about characters unless they are already incredibly successful? You wait for other people to decide if its good or not and then jump on the bandwagon? You are missing out on so many great things.

Shang-Chi is higher up the ladder than Guardians of the Galaxy was, and that turned out okay.

And yet they've been translating the weirdness of comics for 11 years with overwhelming success. And of course even before the mcu existed there were successful comic book movies.

That's your right, of course. Though it's a very strange stance, IMO. You like movies based on imaginary tiers? Also he may be unknown to you, but not to all of us.

Its just gunna be 20 minutes of people whackin Chris Hemsworth in the nuts with a prop mjolnir

:hehe:

I'll be happy if Feige surprises everyone and reveals all three 2022 films, which hopefully won't be what everyone is expecting:

Captain Marvel 2 (February)
Black Panther 2 (May)
Spider-Man 3 (July)

I'd like at least one curveball that year.

I think Spidey will end up being the 4th 2021 film with Blade, Captain Marvel and Black Panther 2 being the 2022 films. Maybe Guardians 3 instead of Blade or Captain Marvel

Guardians 3 is definitely coming out in 2022 and Captain Marvel 2 is probably coming out in 2023. I have a feeling that moving forward, sequels will be released every four years.
