MCU X-Men - Part 2

exactly what we need, another movie where x-men arent really x-men yet. after FC, DOFP, Apocalypse... no thanks.

the O5 is important, and they can show their picture hanging on a wall, but the x-men became superpopular once the characters moved to adulthood.

i hope we get to see them in their mid 20s, ready for action. i will gladly accept any explanation about their whereabouts during previous mcu films.

Yep. I'd love to see the original five treated like the founding members, but I want a different team for the first X-Men movie.

And yes, please, no more "becoming the X-Men, but not yet really" movies. I had enough of that. And at this point I'm so, so, so frustrated with FOX X-Men that I'll accept basically any excuse for the existence of mutants in the MCU.

So besides the heroes directly in the fight in Wakanda and the the Avengers and Fury, who knows of Thanos without being told by one of those involved?

Peter Parker was only 17 and he jumped out of a moving school bus when UFOs attacked New York. The X-Men are self-centered bums if they were 25-30 and just sat in a "School for Gifted Youngsters" in upstate New York while Peter took that much initiative. It might as well be a euphemism for "Mutants With Developmental Disabilities" at that point.
Besides, Civil War was less than 2 years before the second alien invasion and no one spoke to any mutants. That's actually the bigger problem with this passion for fancasting actors who will be over 30.

You dont know that the X-men are doing nothing. The snap was a global phenomen that touched everyone. It created a catastrophe that was sure to be felt and cant be ignored. The aftermath of that wont be touched upon till at least AV4 at the earliest and any impact to the X-men will have to be mentioned later. Just bc you dont see it, doesnt mean its not happening in the background

x-men could have been helping and simply werent shown on screen. or they were on a mission in savage land. or mojo world.

i think you lack imagination. are you bothered by avengers never mentioning ego's blue goo?

You're not explaining how Captain America: Civil War could have happened without the X-Men being younger than Peter Parker.

exactly. and maybe they were on a freakin krakoa at the time.

i believe the writers and producers are competent enough to incorporate them without making us sit thrugh another x-men origin movie.

There's nothing to explain. Civil War was a personal issue and doesnt directly affect them. Spider-Man being in there made absolutely no sense and was a glaring plot misstep which the film makers ignored bc they used it as a marketing tool to promote Homecoming and that Sony deal

i dont see wheres the problem? honestly? perhaps the government isnt really super familiar with a 'mutant problem'? and even if they were, xaviers school is a front and no one suspects what really goes on? they are trying to keep a low profile and protect the students? also they have two super powerful telepaths and a cerebro at their disposal?

really, suspend your disbelief a little. otherwise, idk how you get to enjoy any of the marvel films.

Yeah, Spidey got involved in the fight because he happened to be in the right place at the right time. Everyone else had to be specifically told about who Thanos was and what he was planning to do.

Besides Peter being on a field trip nearby how long do you think it would take for the kids at Xavier’s, let’s say an hour away, to get rounded up from whatever they were doing at the moment get the jet running to that location in Manhattan? How long do you think the fight with Ebony Maw actually took?

The fact of the matter is that if Marvel wants to say mutants and the X-men have been around for a while, they will and most people will accept it. The only ones that will complain are people being super picky and pedantic but they will seethe and have to deal. Similar issues were brought up about Captain Marvel when her film was announced but we've since learned that she's been around since the 90s. Where has she been? Why didnt she help out in any of the conflicts? Why didnt SHIELD or Fury know about her? Marvel has the answers. We'll accept it, we'll deal with it and we'll move on. It'll be no different than the X-men once we finally see them onscreen. I think its ridiculous to act like its an impossible thing to do with proposed scenarios brought up here

Thank you man.

All this talk about mutants not fitting in but Carol Danvers didn't even throw a punch in 2012 when the aliens invaded yet she's been flying around since the 90s. And we don't even bat an eyelash about that.

People over complicate things.

Exactly but I dont see too many people acting like thats impossible the way you are acting like its impossible to have adult X-men. You seem to be really bothered and pressed about that possibility to the point of irrationality. I wont prefer it but yeah they can go with teenagers and Im sure I'll enjoy what they come up with

I think it comes down to how you personally want to see your X-Men. I don’t mind some younger members being in their teens as it was in the comics. For me a classic team is the older ones being in their early 20’s like the original team while the giant sized and there after characters minus Logan being mid to late teens. For me the New Mutants were the purely teen team that came later once the school expanded and became a larger school. I personally don’t want to go through seeing a new team starting from scratch with all teens.

Early 20s sounds fine to me. Just don't want them to be 25-30 year olds

Same here.

You guys think the X-Men trying to apprehend Proteus on the first go round would make for an interesting movie?

First MCU mission with them trying to take on an out of control teen, he wreaks havoc on Muir Island, symbolizes the whole mutants can't be trusted because they're unpredictable thing, the X-Men trying to neutralize him, etc.

I was just watching that 2 parter from the TAS.

Roughly for me:
Scott-24
Jean-22
Hank-25
Bobby-20
Warren-21
Logan-30 looking
Ororo-19
Piotr-18
Kitty-15
Kurt-17
Remy-20
Jubilee-15
Rogue-18

Right.

I'm still torn about MCU Ororo. Always wanted it to be Lupita, but that's out of the window now. They just need to get my Goddess down right, and no short white haircut/mohawk.

I would have liked Lupita too. Just hope they get someone who can really take this character to top billing MCU status.

Thank god we live in a time where there’s so many amazing actresses who are finally getting credit

So what are we thinking for Magneto's costume in the MCU?

I quite like his design from X-Men: Blue, but I'd change the black to red.

His Uncanny look from a couple of years ago was perfect and easily adaptable to live screen
