MCU X-Men - Part 2

Kitty is pointless to have around if the entire team is teens as people are suggesting here. She serves better as a contrast to the older more experienced members and shouldnt be added till later if that were the case

Agreed. Add both her and Jubilee as the teen new starts to the team. No way do I want to see the entire main team be awkward kids again and wait another ten years just to get to where we want we want to be with a X-men team.

Kitty can absolutely still function on a younger team. Provided they aren't High-school students, she can still be 15-15 years old on a group with 18-23 year olds and function in a similar way to the comics. Bobby and her should be the youngest members

Well, too bad. Feige is probably too smart to hire a screenwriter and order them to write an X-Men script where they have ten years of unexplained backstory.

But none of those characters will be experienced if they are coming together for the first time. You'll have 5-6 characters with variations of the same character arc, making Kitty redundant. Her being younger isnt merely about her age but as a novice to more experienced X-men which is something thats lost if they all come in at the same level

Who says it has to be the first time? You can easily say the group formed as high-school kids after Thanos attacked and have a few years of experience under their belt like Ultimate X-Men. Kitty would still be in High-School and still be a noob compared to everyone else. Ultimate X-Men essentially went this route.

The people in this thread that have been advocating for the Adventures of the Teenage X-men. Dont act like you havent read this pushed around here

Many here just dont want a team of 30+ year old X-Men who show up out of nowhere with a decade and a half of experience and character development under their belt. But I dont think the majority are wanting 14-16 year old kids. I wouldn't mind it at all if Marvel went back to the VERY START but I think going the Ult route is the best compromise between those that want a mature team and those that want a young team.

Ive read plenty of times on here that when they do the MCU X-men it should be the kids coming together for the first time. Its not something I share or want, but it is something that keeps getting mentioned in regards to how they should be adapted.

This thread should take its rightful place in the X-Men Sequels thread.

No, bc its about the start of a brand new franchise, not a sequel to anything thats currently existing. Besides theres already a simlar thread over there anyway

Great pick and comparison. Although she probably should be younger than the others, it would probably be a change for the worse to have her with the whole team also being pretty young.
In my idea the team is in their mid 20's. Kitty would be Peter's age about.

Thanks about the pick. But the comparison was just an image I found and that it worked better than others.

That's not how the Spider-Man boards are laid out though. They have the latest MCU offerings, and then below them the Raimi and Webb franchises. It's not a completely separate section for MCU Spider-Man.

They can do the same for X-Men. While there isn't an MCU X-Men in the works, they can have a general one for all kinds of discussion about them, including casting, even if they start appearing in other people's films first.

We better get a cinematic version of the classic theme in the MCU film when it happens. Won't be complete with this playing in the background of the beginning or 3rd act battle scene.

I think Harris Dickinson is a really good choice for Scott

I would love that! Hey it worked for Spider-Man!

Isn't Peri Gilpin 57? She played Roz in Frasier.

I like the idea of Lily Collins for Jean.

Damn sorry I was distracted and meant to say Betty Gilpin. Fixed now!

Although she’s still my favourite for Susan Storm, if she doesn’t get that I would love to see Betty Gilpin as an animated series esque Rogue

I looked her up and saw that she was in Elementary. I remember her now. I wouldn't want her for Sue Storm.

I didnt mean to imply that this would need its own section. This can and will obviously be moved to the X-men section but this should be in a subsection made specifically for the first X-men MCU film, not sequels. The Raimi films are seperated into their own subsection. I dont see why the Fox X-men films cant have the same done with this.

Well that we can agree on.

I bet we'll get someone like this for an X-Man if they go the Spider-Man Homecoming route:

And it will probably be Scott "Slim" Summers rather than someone who's actually meant to be short like Wolverine. :o

If they go that route for Scott's school chum I wouldn't be overly offended.

So can we assume that the Gambit movie with Channing and the Multiple Man movie with Franco are both dead?

Surely there’s worse things to be offended by.

Hey I wonder how quickly we can see Madripoor and which filming location they might choose for it? That would be so cool. I don’t really see much of a parrelel to it and present day Hong Kong like it was originally intended though

The mods do a fantastic job but I would actually love for this and the FF to have their own forums. I mean we know it’s going to happen eventually and it would be so much fun to spread out the discussions so we can have a casting thread, a Wishlist for directors thread, iconic scenes we want to see etc type thread...

If it’s all happening in one thread I feel like we can’t get into the meat of a discussion before it’s whisked away on another tangent
