MCU X-Men - Part 2

So can we assume that the Gambit movie with Channing and the Multiple Man movie with Franco are both dead?
Gambit was never really happening, Mutiple Man is never happening because of the James Franco scandal.

You know, the idea of starting off with some variation of the original 5, a young X-Men team, and saving somebody like Wolverine for a sequel has grown a lot on me. Though I probably would have most of the X-Men being college-aged with only one or two being actual teenagers. But I think it would work.

Just swap out Angel for Storm and maybe add Kitty Pryde or Jubilee.

The OG Ultimate lineup works best for this

 I'd replace Colossus with someone else though since the Deadpool movies will be using him. Replace him with Kitty or Rouge. (The former of whom became a member later on)

If Colossus is going to be living in the mansion in more Deadpool movies, it makes sense for him to live there in "other" MCU films too.
That group also needs a third girl, who should be Rogue.

So:

- Cyclops
- Marvel Girl
- Storm
- Beast
- Rouge/Kitty
- Iceman

Tbh, I would make it Kitty over Rouge because the latter needs proper development first before joining the X-Men.

Sounds good to me.

Starting with a wolverine standalone and expanding from there seems like the best way to go. Throw in a cameo from Stark, Cap or Fury at the end.

I think its best to go straight in with the X-men and then a Wolverine solo. Build up to him joining the X-men. I think it and the whole concept of mutations in this universe should be established before we get to him

id rather they build up to him joining the x-men but that's just me. Wonder if General Ross will be involved in the weapon x program in the MCU.

They could do that. Tie Howard Stark into it as well. Weapon X was in illegal program back in the 70s that experimented on mutants which at time in the MCU were such a small number that the programs completely flew under the radar.

You also have to tackle the Adamantium problem

Nah, Weapon X happened after the program they had worked on in The Incredible Hulk, which itself was said on-screen to be an attempt to replicate the (Weapon I) program from Dubya Dubya Two.
The list of programs got pretty goofy under Grant Morrison, with the highest number anyone but him has acknowledged being Weapon XIV, the Stepford Cuckoos.

I'm not sure how I would feel about the Weapon X program/Logan's origin happening in modern day. Weapon X should be something long in the past

I had an interesting thought, not sure if it's practical at all and wouldn't fail but it would be a fascinating approach. I remember years ago Ron Howard was attached to direct a Dark Tower movie and was trying to pitch a trilogy of films with a miniseries tv show between the films that way they can tell much more of the story. I was thinking they could potentially do something similar with X-Men, have the movies be the big defining moments in the universe and then continue the story in a tv series. It would be an interesting way to explore the vast amount of characters. Maybe have the stars of the films have reoccurring/guest roles and the cast is focused more on the school.

There's a million reasons why that wouldn't work but fun to think about.

IMO they should do it like a more serious My Hero Academia.

That's good idea. What Marvel needs to do (which is just what they did with Spider-man) is try to avoid all of the tropes that we've seen before. Focusing on the school/training aspect might be a good idea.

I wouldn't have any problem with the X-Men being/starting off as high-school kids like the Kirby run but I know many would have a problem if they went that route. But I personally think it could be awesome to go back to the whimsical, more lighthearted stories from the 60s run for the first film:

And slowly evolve the tone as the kids mature and things get more serious. Like what Marvel is doing with Spider-Man

Eh... that sounds boring and repetitive to what was already happening with Spider-Man: Homerun (or whatever ridiculous name they've come up with).

Kirby/Lee stuff that's still foundational:
Xavier and his school
Magneto, the Brotherhood
Juggernaut
The Sentinels, inc. Bolivar Trask and Master Mold

That's enough for the first 2-3 films, and already covers the mutant/human tension. The Savage Land also debuted in that run.

I think Ultimate X-Men is the compromise between Lee/Kirby and the Claremont/Lee run

And Marvel tends to take inspiration from the.Ultimates a lot any way

Do you think Feige will at least consider the idea of merging the Fox verse if Dark Phoenix is good? It would stupid to not at least consider it imo when you have Lawrence, McAvoy and Fassbender already lined up. You wouldn't want to just give up that cast. If you have them under contract. Plus if Disney backs up a huge truck full of money to Jackman's front door to come back "one last time" in Avengers vs X-Men. I think people would accept a new wolverine more easily if Hugh was there to pass the torch. He could play an alternate wolverine from a different timeline if he wants to something different. One where hes not a leader but more of a team player.

Absolutely not. Incorporating the Singer X-films into the MCU would be a grave mistake. If the off chance the film is good(unlikely given who’s behind the camera) then that would be a welcome surprise but Feige is very protective of the MCU continuity and he’ll fold the Mutants(along with the FF) naturally into the MCU without some convoluted inter-dimensional nonsense that brings the Fox versions onto universe.

What about bringing over the actors at least? McAvoy and Fassbender?
