This is how I want Scott to look like:

I'm sorry MU if you think KJ Apa can stand shoulder to shoulder with Chris Evans, in the acting department or in the leadership role. I really am sorry.

Yes and Lucas Hedges it is not. I got you Lip. :cwink:
And I'm still not seeing a legitimate objection to Hedges as Cyclops. I mean, implying that you don't find him attractive? You gotta come better than that. Harris Dickinson is another choice I've been thinking about, plus he has the Disney connection.

Do you have any choices in mind?

Fancasting a younger Cyclops is more difficult than fancasting an older one.

Taron is like 5'9 not that it matters much. But I would like wolverine to be shorter that most of his teammates this time around. Lol

Aside from his face not looking like how Cyclops should look like, Lucas Hedges is also way, way too scrawny to be Scott. Yes he's Scott "Slim" Summers but I have my doubts he'll *ever* look the part of Jim Lee Scott in a million years.

Taron I was rooting to get the Scott role when they were casting for Singer's Apocalypse but I think he's too short and they'd have to find other shorter X-men to match his Cyke for the MCU.

Ehhh, I mean.. I generally don't like to knock other people's fancasting but imo he's too short and burly, more of a Wolverine type but I wouldn't cast him as Logan either.

If I were gonna cast an older Scott in vain of the 90s TAS, I would go with Blake Jenner, Alex Pettyfer or Dylan O'Brien.

This is why I really want to see Scott's generations as adults. I want him to be able to fulfill his role of a leader instead of having to wait around for another three movies watching him learn to assert himself. Chris Pine would be a dream choice, in my opinion, but that's not very realistic at this point. I think Oliver Jackson-Cohen (The Haunting of Hill House) could do very well in the part. He has your typical "leader/hero" look and aura, but has a very wide range of vulnerability.

But is he attractive enough for Lip? That's the real question :D

I'm sure he's a good actor. And I think if came down to the wire, I could compromise a younger Scott for an older one in mid 20s which is what Cap was in TFA. But I'm personally firmly against the idea of an early 30s Scott. That's the epitomization/extreme of what would not work. An early 30s X-Men has more experience than any team or hero in the MCU that's not Thor. A 32 year old Scott Summers has more experience than Captain America. They've been a team since before Stark became Iron Man in 2008. That is just completely illogical to me

You think Dylan O'Brien looks like 90s TAS Cyclops?

BTW, I didn't mean to knock your fancasting either. I just had to be honest that I don't find those actors attractive enough to me to play Scott.

You actually mentioned an actor a few months ago that I had never heard of, and he is very attractive. I just don't remember his name. And recently I saw him in a list The Hollywood Reporter made of "rising stars", something like that.

I think Lucas Hedges lacks the intensity for Cyclops. He is usually kind of a vulnerable (kind of whiny) person in his movies (Manchester, Lady Bird, Three Billboards), which there is nothing wrong with, just not personally my pick for Cyclops. He's a good actor for sure, I just don't see him as the stubborn leader, he would need a stronger, more commanding voice for starters IMO. I haven't seen him in Mid90s though, where he seems to play a more intense character.

Blake Jenner (based on Edge of Seventeen) seems like he could have the needed commanding presence for that, but not very sure of his acting chops. Noah Centineo also seems to have a good voice for it, but I need to see him play something more than the internet's dream boyfriend to be convinced.

O'Brien was one of the front-runners for Civil War's and Homecoming's Spider-man in 2015. In other words, in Marvel's and Feige's eyes, he fit the teenager role four years ago. It would be different if he matured exponentially since then but no he hasn't really aged much in these four years.

Two years ago O'Brien was in a show called Teen Wolf. As Stan would say "'Nuff said."

90s Cyclops is the opposite of teenaged Scott. They should strive for someone built like Evans if they really are gonna go for a 90s Scott.

Agreed. I also think they need the new Wolverine to be comic accurate and not a carbon copy of Hugh Jackman. It's best to go opposite direction than being compared to the only Wolverine everyone ever knew.

Yes (though I'm not quite sold on his acting) but not like Dylan O'Brien. I'm glad we got that sorted out.
Pettyfer has broken out into directing now. He's got some chops and he's got talent. I know one thing for sure, though. This is the IDEAL Cyclops for me

He's been my fancast since the deal was announced. I also have fancasts for 90s Jean, Hank, Ororo, Gambit and Rogue too.

This is the guy mentioned here before. And visually speaking, I approve:

But I'm honestly a bit affraid of Marvel casting Timothée Chamalet to play Scott.

I'm sure there's more to what you're thinking than what you're saying, but taking it literally, 18 year olds are adults and assertive people don't wait until their 20s and 30s to do so.

Dylan probably could still pull off being 18-19. I'm a little skeptical, but it is at least possible.

Scott's gunna be a tough one to cast, that's for sure
Marvel was so short on good options for Cap they had to re-use somebody who had already been in a Marvel film
there's, amazingly, kind of a scarcity of good young white male actors at the moment

Dylan Obrien does actually seem like he could be a good choice, I'm not overly familiar with his work though

I hear ya, I hear ya

Maybe it's just that I really f***ing hate Cyclops

lol...kidding...kinda
#TeamWolvie
Joke or not, it should be pointed out that hating Cyclops because you're TeamWolvie is like hating peanut butter because you like jelly.

Scott Eastwood or Henry Cavill for Cyclops.

Telling you they both have that Summers look.

Yeah. There are loads of X-Men fans who are big fans of both. They are both crucial to the history of the team.

I think it's worth mentioning that O'Brien not being ripped enough or being built enough is a non-factor. As he'll go through the same Marvel training regime that Evans, Holland, Rudd and Boseman went through.

But what I like about O'Brien is his range. He can play stone-cold badass killing machine (American Asssasin), he can play a confident leader who has to make tough decisions (Maze Runner) but he can tell a joke and he has great comedic timing. Now, obviously Scott won't be making wisecracks 24/7 but him having the ability to easily take the piss out of Wolverine will go a long way in making the GA take a liking to Summers and see him as an equal.
