Marvel Films MCU X-Men - Part 4

Madden to me is more of a Cyclops, but not a bad choice
Egerton could be good, but he reads a bit young
Hells to the nah on Pattinson, don't want to have to look at his ugly mug for several movies
and Bernthal is Punisher, so that hopefully wouldn't happen

but generally speaking, not too bad of choices
Egerton may look young, but he'll be 30 in November and by the time we see the X-Men, he might be the perfect age. Or, he'll be too old already. Depends on what age range they go with

Then who would be your pick for Wolverine in the Disney MCU

I like your Isaac pick, though he gets fancast a lot so Marvel might not go that direction, and while Zac Efron would catch Marvel a lotta s**t, I think he could actually do really well with it

I also didn't hate the Charlie Hunnam idea when I first heard it, but after King Arthur he took a bit of a hit... and even in Sons of Anarchy where he was at his most Logan-like, his accent was wonky as hell, so I dunno

Idk, Wolverine may be among the toughest casting decisions Marvel has had to make, I don't envy Sarah Finn (casting director), but I do have faith she'll find the perfect person

Then who would be your pick for Wolverine in the Disney MCU

Dacre Montgomery is my favorite pick after seeing him in Stranger Things 2. He's still not very well known so X-Men could really be his big break. He's in his mid 20s so by the time they get to Wolverine in the MCU he'd be the perfect age for it. And the dude is intense. I could see him going into berserker rage.

I'd prefer Montgomery and Isaac play Johnny and Reed

- Jack O'Connell
- Joe Dempsie
- Zac Efron
- Alden Ehrenreich

Definitely want someone under 5'10 as well as someone young enough to play the part for the next 16 years of the MCU like Jackman did. Just completely disappear into the role

Then I would go with Alden

Also, regarding Cyclops, it totally depends on which age-range Marvel is going for. There's two ways I can see them approaching the X-Men casting. They're either all mostly early to mid 20-somethings that are peers of Tom Holland or they're mid 20s to early 30s i.e peers of Brie Larson and Elizabeth Olsen. So really, no fancasting is inaccurate or wrong until we know what Marvel is going for. I have a set of picks for both age-ranges

Young:
- Harris Dickinson
- Lucas Hedges
- Luke Benward
- Charlie Rowe
- Charlie DePew

Old:
- Dylan O'Brien
- Thomas Mann
- Alex Pettyfer
- Jeremy Irvine
- Jack Reynor

Also, you have to keep in mind the 3-4 year gap from now to when the movie actually comes out. So all of these guys will be older than they are today. That's not to say Cyclops won't be introduced sooner, though.

My issue with Taron is his height. After having Sheridan play a very short, stumpy Scott Summers, I hope we at least get someone who is 5'10 or over. Cyclops should be taller than Wolverine and Taron would be a better fit for Pyro or Avalanche imo

Or how about Mel Gibson's son Milo Gibson as the new Wolverine...Milo is actually a good actor well it is in his DNA if you have watched any of his stuff...Milo would be perfect for Wolverine and Milo is not too old either he's 28

I can see Zac Efron as Pyro.

And Wolverine should be old, like as old as RDJ right now.

mmm, Mel's son definetly seems like the best suggetion Ive seen these latest days.

the rest all look like teenagers or young adult, even if they are close to 30. no thanks.

A 53 yo Wolverine? Wouldn't they want to sign someone who can play this role well over 10 - 15 years? Fox got 17 years out of Jackman.

Unless we want Logan looking like someone's grandpa by the time he debuts in the MCU

Wolverine doesn't need to appear for 10 to 15 years when they got other X-Men to focus on. And I'm not suggesting an older actor who ages badly.

Marvel's Wolverine should have Hugh's age when X1 started.

a younger wolverine would look a joke, and we all should know it. Wolverine didnt debut in the comics looking like young adult lol. So why does Marvel needs that now? doesnt make any sense. Wolverine should give the vibe of a man tortured and tired of life, somehow. not a fresh face, almost right after university.

Wellll... That's not likely to happen, even if it should. The best we can hope for is Wolverine showing up in the MCU abroad to give the actual X-Men some focus.

We can't predict how an actor is going to age. Not every 50 year old is going to be a Paul Rudd or Downey Jr. Somebody who is 52 today will have already aged out of the role by 2022. They'd be pushing 60 come the sequel

Naw 10-15 years that makes no sense to me.

Wolverine should be a main supporting team member. Imo 4th billing after Cyclops, Storm, & Jean.

I hope the new Xavier recruits him in the mid credits of the Wolverine solo movie. Then Wolverine would like take his business card but not appear in Westchester until the mid or post credit in X-MEN 1.

Just my idea

Glad that someone agrees with me about Mel's son being cast as Wolverine

Iron Man, Captain America and Thor aren't even hitting 11 or 12 years IF they are killed or written out in Endgame. Wolverine can appear in 7 to 8 movies (counting cross overs / cameos) within the neXt ten years but beyond that would be eXcessive. There are so many characters that can carry the X-Men. They can feature a dozen of them in every film without Wolverine. With the right material, Cyclops, Storm, Rogue, Jean, Gambit, Beast, Psylocke, Angel, Iceman, Colossus, Shadowcat and Nightcrawler can be as popular as the Wolverine. Then there's also Emma, Havok, Jubilee, Polaris, Bishop, Forge, Dazzler (to name a few) that can be featured in supporting roles. They are set for a dozen films even if the Wolverine only appears for 2 to 3 X-Men films.

lets take into account that MCU started in 2008 and some original avengers actors will retire this year, just 11 years later.

So I dont think the new Wolverine will stay another 20 years, just like Jackman. That was an exception, mostly because Fox started with prequels and found a way (forced) to keep using Jackman almost until the last movie. (tho it was in 2017).

Marvel will have like 30 other mutants to explore during 2 decades, there is no way the new Wolverine will stay as much as Jackman.

yeah. and not to mention that Jackman was appearing as Logan with a 3 year gap at Fox.
and we all know at Marvel Wolverine will appear almost every year, lol, so the new actor will get tired of the role faster than Jackman.

Can you imagine one actor playing the same role during 15 years, each damm year??? that would be exhausting lol

But there's also the fact that Wolverine is just as much a Marvel character than he is a X-MEN character.

He honestly doesn't need to be in every X-MEN movie.

He can be in Wolverine I-III
Avengers V-VIII

He can appear in multiple different movies and not even be in X-MEN.

He's honestly bigger than the X-MEN franchise.

yeah, so again, the more Marvel uses him, the sooner the actor will get tired.

Not really, the thing is there's so much left to be desired when it comes to potraying the X-Men in the big screen.

If Wolverine is the Spider-Man or the Iron Man of the X-Men. The X-Men is the equivalent of the Avengers and the X-Menwere bigger @ one point. that's how big the X-Men are in the comics, thats why we got a handful of X-Men cartoons and videogmes before the Avengers, and that's why the term Xbooks was created. The Avengers are basically the who's who of the Marvel Universe (a gimmick to sell more more comics and now tickets) unlike the X-Men, they don't need to unite different superheroes just to be massive. The X-Men are more special in my opinion, anyone can be an Avenger, but not a X-Man.

It won't matter how tired he is if Marvel signs him to a 9 movie contract like they did Samuel L. Jackson and Sebastian Stan. He'd be contractually obligated to play the part for as long as he's signed. And really, why would he get tired? It's an annual paycheck coming in for him every year and especially if it's an unknown actor like Jackman was, they'd want to hold onto the role for as long as they can. The MCU is thd biggest franchise in the world right now

Wolverine is extremely long-lived. The only way him "retiring" would make sense is if he's dead. He's always the one at the very beginning and the very end. He outlived all of the X-Men in Old Man Logan. That's part of the tragedy of the character imo
