the x-men reboot hasnt been announced yet and you are already tired of the rumors? lol
well....... get prepared then, because this has just started.

The very fact that fans generate so many rumors based on literally nothing other than their own wishes and fantasies is precisely *why* its tiresome. At least when actual announcements come out, there will be something for people to talk about.

Rumors are fun because it gives us fan boys and girls something to chat about, otherwise this forum will be a snooze fest LOL. Everyone here had their favorite team members so it’s fun to speculate about how they will show up, what they bring to the team, race swap speculation, etc.
If this rumor of Marvel going with the Ultimate X-Men being in different universe is fine with me, because their world is very dark and grim will all of the anti mutant sentiment unlike the Avengers world where they are loved while the X-Men are heroes but they aren’t loved and admired (off bat). If something happens if both universes merge into one I would definitely like that.

You’re in the wrong place then. Half the fun is discussing hypotheticals and rumors.

I could see various x characters getting a series
XFactor, Excalibur, maybe a Mr and Mrs X series could be good fun
But I feel fairly certain Wolvie will get films... hes got some good stories and villains that I feel like Marvel will want to finally do justice to on film

the Storm in Thor 4 one doesnt come from a fan, it comes from a known reporter on twitter/own site, so..... its not just a random rumor. he could be into something (as much as Id hate it)

I was thinking Storm was going to be introduced in either BP 2 or 3. But Gorr needs some gods to butcher, so maybe its Storm's predecessor as the African weather goddess who gets got in Love & Thunder, opening up a slot for our Ororo.

I think that is their best option. After 3 theatrical films, it would be wise to change things up.
Yeah and personally I'm not just interested in another Wolverine trilogy. They could easily given the spot to someone else or do more X-Men films.

But Ororo isn't actually a god. She's a mutant who thinks she is

Introducing her in Thor 4 has serious implications for the future. The X-Men and Thor are so far removed from each other, as is Kenya and Asgard. Is Storm now an Asgardian?

It's like randomly introducing Kitty Pryde as a member of the GOTG with no thought put into how this affects the X-Men down the line

Unless of course, Marvel is positioning Storm has her own brand independent from the X-Men like Wolverine

I think you're overthinking it a little. Storm has lightning powers so it could be cool to see Thor meet another lightning user. Thor has spent plenty of time on Earth before, it's no more bizarre for him to end up in Kenya than it is for him to end up in London or New Mexico.

I definitely think we'll see mutants in other MCU films and shows for a few years before an X-men film. And I think Storm is a big enough character that they'll want to make her both a main X-woman and a major player in the MCU at large. Could easily see Storm appearing in Thor 4 and BP2 before X-men.

If Storm is going to be a major player, her introduction should be impactful, meaningful and respectful. Not an afterthought.

One thing I would have liked to see is a MCU film where lighting seems to announce the imminent arrival of Thor and it turn out to be our weather goddess instead.

I really want to see Omega Red, and about time we got a great Sabretooth too.

I can see Storm working in Thor 4 if they play up the goddess aspect of her character. Then when the time comes for her to be introduced in X-Men she will learn that she is just an ordinary human with special gifts and how is she hated and feared in America. We can see her becoming adjusted to American civilization, maybe becoming frustrated with how society treats mutants, perhaps she misses being in Africa and worshipped for her gifts. I think it will be good character arc for her to go from “goddess to X-Man.” I would love to see a true character journey for Ororo before we know her as “Storm,” if that makes sense.

But Storm doesn't really have anything to do with Thor outside of having lightning powers (I know she was a member of Thor corps in the comics but that was decades after she was established-- hence why I used the Kitty GOTG)

If Ororo is already a fully independent character going on cosmic adventures with Asgardians and fighting god killers, then ending up at a school with a rag-tag group of mutants is a massive downgrade. It's like having Valkyrie show up

The X-Men and the school are meant for mutants who don't feel whole. Whether that's control, emotional support, self discovery, or a surrogate family. That's why I'd prefer she be introduced in Black Panther II--Maybe as princess of a Wakandan tribe (Xavier can show up since their borders are open now).

So we are introduced to an incomplete Ororo whose void can be filled at the school, and whose calling can be discovered with the X-Men.

But does this serve Thor or Ororo?

It def serves the movie's spectacle. And knowing Waititi, his vision of Storm is likely going to be a comedic parody of herself. And whoever gets X-Men is going to be saddled with his vision

Coogler should def get that opportunity to define MCU Storm; root her in her culture, in her goddess mythology. Showcase her power a little bit but also show that something is missing, that there is a void she needs to fill.

After she's been with the X-Men, I'd be completely fine with her teaming up with Thor. But not as an introduction

You can make the exact same argument about introducing her in BP2 though. Whichever film she appears in, if she's already been on a superhero adventure isn't Xavier's school beneath her? Not necessarily. She'd still be a potentially quite young mutant who still needs to get a handle on her powers. Or maybe they go make Storm older and wiser from the start and have her as a leader and mentor to the younger X-men.

I think this is selling Taika a little short, just because his take on the MCU is a more comedic one than most directors that doesn't mean he's incapable of writing serious moments. If the rumour is true we'll probably have some humorous moments with Storm but that doesn't make her a parody of herself.

ETA:I think it's clear that the MCU is making links in phase 4 between parts of the universe that aren't always obvious at first glance. Wandavision seems like a strange place to introduce Monica Rambeau, Does Loki have any connection to the TVA in the comics? If the rumour is true I trust Fiege that it will work.

MCU Thor isn't actually a god, either. But the God Butcher needs gods to butcher, so a lightning wielder from an advanced alien race and an African who controls the weather may be close enough for Gorr.

I'd prefer a BP 2 or 3 intro as well. But Gorr is not going to seem like much of a threat if he is only targeting a few survivors of a single pantheon. So there may be an opportunity to introduce Ororo or (more likely) her predecessor who was worshipped as a weather controlling deity.

It’s more just the type of stuff that’s like “they wore a green shirt = confirmation they are playing multiple man” type thing that just gets so boring

Exactly this. X-Men should not be appearing to solely prop up other characters.

I think there's room for Wolverine to get his own movies and for others also. It's inevitable we're going to get him at some point so I'd rather he got focus in his own movies rather than taking the spotlight from everyone else the team movies.

Plus, there is so many Wolverine storylines and characters that hasn't been adapted yet.

Some X-Men members could be developed there too. Sort of like Nat, Falcon and Winter Soldier in Captain America.

I'd have Jubilee as his sidekick and keep Kitty as the main teenage POV character in the X-men.
